I talked with many families prior to going to Demaine Funeral Chapel, Old Town, Alexandria. My experience with the place is first class professional service from the entire staff,  along with being a compassionate and caring staff.  The staff carry's people through the preparation process and explains in detail each step of the way.                           
In addition, I didn't recognize the place inside or out b/c it was remodeled within the last year, and I'm very impressed with the new young man who now manages the place, Branham Mann.

Until I read a previous review, I thought I was maybe overreacting because I was upset.  There was a lack of structure, no guidance, Mom wasn't even told when she should arrive before the service. Once we arrived Diane walked Mom upstairs and disappeared. No instruction for a receiving line, when to enter the room for the service, nothing. So it was a giant blob of people.  After the guest sat themselves, we then eventually sat ourselves in  the reserved family section. This is when Diane reappeared and we were told we were not to sit there.  It was reserved for the widow and her children.  We tried to explain we were also  of the departed's children and grandchildren. She wouldn't even listen. The service its self was beautifully done by a lovely woman named Robin.

George Rivera did a wonderful job and was very easy to work with. We were extremely happy with the Demaine Funeral Home and highly recommend it.

Unfortunately the Demaine name is now tarnished in our family.  Found Diana to be curt and disinterested in addition to inaccurate in our dealings.  Ended up trying to work around her instead of with her.

Our family will not be using Demaine's again.  Such a shame.
