Definitely don't expect too much. That being said, these people deal with a lot of BS downtown. They'll hire anyone and don't reinforce good customer service too much. I have probably eaten here at least 100 times, literally. I have almost never been surprised by a near perfect experience.

Went here after a few drinks ( around midnight) waited almost 10 minutes for the hostess to show up, made eye contact with other staff and was completely ignored. When she did finally see us she was very rude about having to seat us, like we were inconvenincing her. After seating us she totally ignored the lady behind us. The phone rang numerous times for several minutes without an answer. The hostess needs to spend less time in the kitchen and more time at her station. Otherwise the server was polite and prompt and the food was good.

Well, dennys keeps its reputation as the worst place to go to. 
Let's start with when you walk in they have you wait to be seated. That's way more than exceptable.  That's normal but? That's where it turns bad. They had me stand there, two waitresses walked by me, not one word. So I wait, wait some more and yet I'm not addressed, im not sat down, and just ignored. It's typical dennys behavior. They seem to have this standard at alot of them. I know because I've had this same treatment at more than one.  Well, there's another one added to the never going to list. Thank you for showing us what we already know.

I mean... It's Denny's... Server was quick about getting our order and got us our food quick and correctly.

The day crew really work their service and are on top of it... whereas the night crew needs to learn from the day crew. Perhaps owners need to ban personal cell phone usage from employees. And when your customers ask for things, perhaps the waitstaff actually try to accommodate their needs. I know, I work as a floor runner for a casino.
