We were sent a $2500 check for an item we were selling online and took it to Desert Schools. The sender of the check started to seem sketchy, so we called Desert Schools after 48 hours (the standard rule of thumb for letting checks clear the bank - I've been buying/selling online for quite some time) and asked if the check had actually cleared the bank and that the funds were safe to use. We were told [by Inesa] that the check had cleared the bank. We bought some plane tickets for a family trip that night. The very next morning, there was a $2500 hole in our account. When I called, I was told that their policy was actually 14 days for a check to be cleared and that the one we deposited had bounced and that they were "sorry for the miscommunication and any inconvenience this may ave caused". No one called me to inform me that I had been the victim of fraud, or that money was being transferred out of my accounts - even after we had called to verify the funds were legitimate and had been told that they were. I was told that a specialist would be contacting me within 24 hours; it has been over 72. This resulted in an overdraft of almost $200, and the fees that come with it. Then the next morning, all of the money we had in other accounts had been transferred - again, without notice/warning - to the account that had a deficit, and more fees had been added. We understand the check was fraudulent, but we were assured by the bank - the institution we trust with our hard-earned money, that it was legitimate just a day before it bounced. We have called and complained and tried to work something out (we still have bills to pay, and non-refundable travel expenses we used the money to purchase), but they offer no solutions or assistance. If we would have been informed of the 14 day policy, or that the check had not actually cleared yet at the time we called, then we would just have returned to things as they had been before the check was cashed (not bought the tickets, etc.). However, because we were assured of the legitimacy of the funds, we executed our plans and now, because of Desert Schools' admitted "miscommunication", we have lost several hundred dollars and will be unable to stay current on several bills, which will cost even more over time. This is completely unacceptable. We will no longer be doing business with Desert Schools. We are taking our money to an institution that values their members and is responsible with their money. We are also seeking legal counsel on the matter.

They have pretty much changed to a bank. There is very little about them that is credit union like anymore. Not to mention the service is not good. The drive thru at the Goodyear brach is the THE WORST.....waiting in a line of 3 cars for almost a half an hour is ridiculous.

Very poor service. You can never get anyone on the phone. You have to leave a message and they never call you back.

We haven't had our account here very long but have had a significant amount of $$ in there ever since, and I about closed my account yesterday over some stupid $3 fee for a money order. I have NEVER been charged for a money order from the bank where I had my account! Maybe $3 is insignificant, but just think how much $$ they are making from each person who needs one (or two, or three)!!! I was told the policy to get free ones (we met all the requirements), but it's absurd!!
