Established in 1989, our clinic provides full service, high quality care to your pets while maintaining personalized attention and a home-like atmosphere. We offer wellness care, full service medical and general surgical and dental care for your pets. We are Yuma's first and only AAHA accredited clinic. Our doctors are on call for emergencies 24 hours, 7 days a week. Please call and our answering service will take your information for the doctor to return your call. Our clinic is NOT open 24 hours. You must call and have a doctor plan to meet you at our hospital.

Reviews

I've been to desert vet multiple times and all times have been a good experience.  The staff at this facility are professionals and know how to handle your pets.  Unfortunately I had to put my dog to sleep as he was suffering and Desert Vet helped my through the process.  Dr. Waples is always sensitive to you and your pet's needs.  
A little late on the review but I give this place 5 stars for their professional service and understand that they give to both owners and pets.

I called the vets office to try and get an appointment for my dog who I told the receptionist that she has had diarrhea for a few days and this morning started vomiting and will not eat or drink. She told me that since it was Presidents' Day that they are completely booked and that I should call another office. I told her that due to starting a travel nursing job in the area that I would be unable to go any place if they closed at 5pm since that's when my orientation ended. Honestly any place that is unsympathetic towards my concern and gives any other good alternative to my poor pet does not deserve to even be consider a animal health center.

I highly recommend this clinic.  My cats have received exceptional care from both staff and doctors..

Pet Emergency? Read no further and call us right away!  This is what their web page says.  They have a link to request an appointment on line and they will call you back to confirm.  Put in a request a 7:45 and never heard back so called at 11:10 and they acted like they didn't even know there was a link to do that.  They didn't know I had requested an appointment and they said they were booked all day today and tomorrow.  They are not taking any more emergency appointments and they cant see my dog until Feb 3 which is 12 days.  My dog is in pain right now.  The receiptionist acted like she didn't even care.  Called Foothill Vet clinic the next day and got in at 2:30.

We asked for an international health certificate. The doctor filled out the wrong form. Since we didn't know that, we sent the certificate to the USDA overnight (not cheap) for endorsement. Of course the USDA didn't do it and after we asked desert vet to fix it, they asked for more money, not even sure if the doctor has the time to do it and if they have the correct form. We made clear what Country we needed it for and they had no clue! They advertising that they do health certificates, but have no idea how to do it right. Now I couldn't take our dog, because the time was running out. 
- At least, I have to say: after two days of "pushing it", they offered to reimburse us ! 
Don't go there. If you want it done right...DON'T GO THERE!
