Story

Detroit Artists Market (DAM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit contemporary art gallery. We have shown and sold work by the best visual artists in the Detroit area since 1932. We offer a full schedule of exhibitions, gallery talks, special events, and our Elements sales gallery full of original art to collect or give as gifts. DAM is supported through the generosity of our members, patrons, customers, and artists.

The Detroit Artists Market fosters a vibrant and distinctive artistic community in Detroit and Michigan by promoting, exhibiting, and selling the work of emerging and established artists, through educational programming and art exhibitions, and by serving as a resource to all who seek to expand their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of art. The best way to have your work considered is to enter it for jury when a Call For Entry goes out. We will post that information here on Facebook, and also on our regular website as they become available.

You could also submit a disc of images with info about size, media, retail price etc. and we can forward it to the Exhibition Committee for their information. From time to time artists are added to our regular Elements sales gallery, or they might note work as being a good match for a sales event like the Garden Party (there's a call for that, too) or some other interest. These "open submissions" are for the information of our Committee and are not intended to be a formal acceptance process.

Our primary focus is to work with our DAM members, so if you are not one already, you can go to http://bit.ly/1gpVxI and print off the form and send it back with your membership dues.

We now have a DAM Artist Database, and every active DAM member who is an artist can have a profile page with work images, artist statement, etc. This will be a big benefit to our artist Members and a useful tool for collectors and others looking to purchase local art.
