Devils Tower KOA

About

A family built and owned campground since 1979

Story

The 1,267-foot-high rock monolith of Devils Tower, America's First National Monument, soars over this campground along the Belle Fourche River in Wyoming's pine-draped Black Hills. Every campsite offers a great view of the chimney-shape pinnacle; KOA is located at the entrance to the monument. In case you've forgotten that the Tower starred in the sci-fi classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind, refresh your memory at nightly showings of the film right at the campground. Fuel up with buffalo burgers or broasted chicken at the full-service Longhorn Café with spacious dining room. Be sure to browse KOA's gift shop, featuring T-shirts, souvenirs and fine gifts, including local artwork.

Not usually a huge fan of a KOA as I usually prefer to stay in the actual National Parks, but this one is an exception. This campground has excellent sites and cabins and amazing views of Devil's Tower. The river flows behind the site providing a beautiful vantage point to take it all in. Enjoy a nice hot shower and watch the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind in the evening!

Great place to camp. I have been to this campground several times over the last few years. I like to your on my motorcycle and this place is great for that. You can rent a cabin or pitch your tent. They have laundry facilities and nice restrooms with shower's. The cafe is a good place to eat. I love the view of the mountain here. At night sometimes you see climbers sleeping on the side of the mountain.

Stayed here 1 night. It is a great campground. The best view of the tower, friendly staff, it was very clean, and the showers were nice. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fire ring issue. You can only have a fire if you bring your own fire ring. This was not advertised anywhere on the website.

Went here in the off-season and got a great rate! The tent sites are large and grassy with exceptional views of devil's tower. The bathrooms were large, clean and looked brand new. There was free wifi and they are located just outside the gates to the park.

Beautiful! Spectacular! Exceeded all expectations! Updated baths are a plus. All of the lush gardens and unexpected tomato plants we're especially nice. The pool, playground, and restaurant could use some updating. I think they run on a small staff and could use an extra fix it man living on the premises to fix the odd and end that is noticeable throughout the park. What is also quite noticeable is the lack of trees and/or the planting of them. Every one of these spaces should have a tree. But that is just my opinion. They are rather full during the weekends but thin out by Tuesday. Lovely place to stay. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
