I drive an hour to take my bikes to Dexter Bike and have for over 10 years.  This shop offers attentive,  courteous service and professional maintenance completed every time.  Sometimes there is a short wait but that just attests to the fact that he is sought after from across the state.  Once I had a closer "reputable" shop work on my Cannondale Lefty shock and it ended up costing me several hundred dollars to repair the repair.  It pays to get the work done right, every time, by a true professional.

Simply awesome. This is exactly why I support local bike shops. He got my Klein Attitude MTB, which has been ridden hard for years, back to like new condition. Exceeded my expectations.

Please do not patronize this shop. The owner (who also does all of the bike maintenance) is self-important and condescending to women--downright misogynistic. I live in Dexter and love the idea of a local bike shop. However, in my three different interactions with the owner, I have been belittled, scoffed at, or ignored. Most recently when I brought my road bike in, the owner spent most of the time criticizing other local bike shop mechanics and then proceeded to ignore me and explain to my boyfriend how to re-wrap bike handle bars. (Never mind that it is my bike and I do all of the work on it). Performance Bike and REI (both in the area) have far better prices, and Wheels in Motion (on Washtenaw) has far better service, if you still want to support a local bike shop.

I drive over an hour to purchase and get my bikes serviced at Dexter Bike Shop. Excellent  service, very knowledgable and great workmanship.
