Story

Four locations conveniently located in Winter Park, Windermere, Thornton Park, and Lake Mary.

Since 1984 Dexter's chefs have used only the freshest and locally sourced ingredients to prepare our creative cuisine. For wine enthusiasts you'll find our selection of wines from around the world to be extensive and very reasonably priced.

Stopped in on a stop over in Lake Mary and our server Chris, from England, was outstanding! We split the blackened chicken and shrimp salad which was awesome! We let Chris choose our wines and he was spot on! He even picked the second glass as well and could not have done any better! We moved to the bar to wait for the band to start and decided after the first few songs that we would move on to another location! After a stop at the restroom, I noticed another customer who had been on the dance floor and told her we were leaving our table. She was celebrating a friend’s 60th birthday so I was happy to lead her to our table so they could comfortably enjoy the rest of their evening! Dexter’s was a great atmosphere but was looking for a more quite place! We will stop in again!

Food is real good here. American, with a clear southern influence. Great beer/wine, including some local brews. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Stopped in with work mates for a quick bite to eat. Ordered the Pressed Duck sandwich which was delicious. 

Chris, our server, was awesome!  He checked on us multiple times and refilled our drinks often. There was live music tonight which made it loud but didn’t bother us much. Recommend giving it a try!

I moved to the Mount Dora area 11 years ago, and visited this place for the first time on Sunday, with some friends. The food, the atmosphere, and the service from our friendly server, Pam was great. The “Blackened Shrimp and Grits” special of the day was deliciously to die for and should be on the regular menu. I will definitely be back to Dexter’s. It’s definitely worth a drive!!!
