About

The Di Cicco family built our first restaurant back in 1956, and we're carrying on our family's legacy here in Clovis -- since 1977!

Story

Our name's pretty well known for serving our own inventive Italian dishes in a family-friendly atmosphere -- we've been doing it since 1956, after all! That's the year Mama and Papa DiCicco and their four sons opened up the first ever DiCicco's. Sandy DiCicco's carrying on the family's legacy here in Clovis these days. In our newly remodeled space, we're serving classic dishes along side our more innovative meals, like our Italian nachos. We're fortunate enough to have a lively lounge space where locals can gather to hear some live music. Guests love us for our homey vibes and our friendly service, and we work hard to keep it that way.

First time we've been there since the remodel, looks nice. Food is still great, service was too. Dining Room is brighter & more open. Doesn't look like 1988 anymore. 🤣

We used to come in a lot. The service and food was OK recently. We had an issue with being charged for some items without knowing. The restaurant focus seems to be on money and not customer satisfaction. I mentioned my concerns to the assistant manager but to no avail. For a few measly dollars, snuck on the ticket, they've lost an entire family of customers. The prices are high and the management is poor. The restroom was dirty too. Lots of other places to eat downtown Clovis, keep nickle and diming customers and your store will be empty.

Atmosphere is nice, the food was good. Parking is limited and the service is kind of slow. The staff are friendly.

My experience at DiCicco's was certainly not a very good one. In response to Christy Romero's post...... about 50 ladies walked into the restaurant all at once and said they needed to be out of there and back at their meeting in 45 minutes and they all needed separate checks. I explained that that many separate checks alone could take 20 minutes. I told them we couldn't do it but the manager went ahead with it anyways. I was the only server and we only had one cook but they wanted us to seat them, take their orders, get their drinks, cook the food, serve the food and do all those separate checks in less than 45 minutes. A second manager came in and eventually came out to help. He took a party of 7. The ladies were all very rude and so the manager had me go to them so "they had a fresh face" but they just continued being rude and berating me. After 45 minutes and lots of rudeness there was still no food for two parties of 7. They said they just wanted their food to go and to pay. As the kitchen was boxing up the food about 20 ladies all lined up at the register. The manager did not know how to do separate checks so he sent me to the register to split all the checks on his table. I had to keep asking who had what to eat and drink. while I was doing this all the ladies in line were complaining and yelling at me. There was nothing I could do to help them and I asked the manager to come to the register but he just left me to deal with it and to keep getting yelled at for 15 minutes straight. I was on the verge of TEARS but instead of crying I broke down and walked away saying, "I'm gonna go wait on my table that's actually going to tip me". With two managers there I never should have been put in that position. I have never worked anywhere that the manager would let a customer berate their employee for 15 minutes until there were tears in their eyes. He ended up comping And voiding almost a couple hundred dollars worth of food. Later a banquet of 40 people came in. The manager told me to go tell them they must be at the wrong place. They kept insisting it was there and once again a manager left me to deal with it for over 10 minutes until they finally came out and told the people they were at the wrong place. Then one of the guests showed the manager the paperwork for the banquet. The managers lost it. A couple other minor disasters like this happened in the short time I was there. I'm sorry my job didn't work out but the way the restaurant is run is pretty poor. I love the restaurant business and am great with customers under any other circumstance. I hope that they can get their systems running better.
