What a delightful find! Intimate ambience, fresh food and of course delicious! I had the stuffed shells with meat sauce with a side of broccoli. The wine was a perfect pairing. I really enjoyed my meal and can't wait to return! No pizza here. Nice short walk from Sunken Gardens Park in the city!
Update: They reimbursed me without asking!! Very nice of them!! Great customer service. Ordered delivery. I ordered 2 rigatoni dishes, but I subbed spaghetti noodles and fettuccine noodles for both orders. The spaghetti was mushy. The fettuccine was Spicer than the spaghetti even though they were supposed to be the same the cannoli was tasty. Looks great but the taste just didn't match.
Fantastic ever time, even though we always use Italian Date Night as our excuse to get delicious homemade pasta. I come for the amazing Chicken Parm, and I sometimes indulge in the special instead. Tonight was Pumpkin Pappardelle, wonderful flavors with a hint of spice! Already ruined the presentation with a few bites, couldn’t wait.
We search for a nice Italian restaurant online and decided on this one. We were probably a little underwhelmed walking in as we expected more of a sit-down and waitstaff style service. This place was pretty good, and was nice and clean. You step up to the counter and order your food and they bring it out to you. We ordered the chicken parmesan and spaghetti which was okay. They give you two huge pieces of chicken parmesan though which is great. The kids noodles were fine. The wine wasn't that great, but the tiramisu and the lemon cookie was tasty.
This is my favorite place the food was absolutely delicious: the staff was so nice, and everything was so clean.
This place was on my list for a while and I finally made it there for lunch - why did I miss out for so long?! The food was delicious! I went with two people that are gluten free and they still had great options for them even though they specialize in their homemade pastas. The homemade sweet corn ravioli with braised pork was incredible. Staff was friendly and polite and food came quickly. It's definitely worth a visit and I'll for sure be returning!
DiFranco's hosted our company holiday dinner. They were amazing to work with very communicative and listened exactly to what I wanted. The night of the event was flawless and the staff exceptionally kind and attentive. The food was delicious. Absolutely wonderful!
Empty plates and bowels!!! This place is sooooo good, try the pizza logs, they were awesome, everyone ate everything, we will be back!!!!!
Went on a Saturday for dinner after visiting the Art museum. I was craving Italian, specifically vodka sauce, and came across the good reviews at DiFrancos. I made a reservation thinking it would be busy on a Saturday night but was surprised to walk in and see the opposite. This isn't a sit and be served restaurant either, you order and pay first at the counter and wait for your food kind of like Noodles & company, which threw me off a little. The plates are tiny portions and they're very skimpy with the sauce. I paid $23 + a whopping $8.50 for two tiny chicken cutlets that weren't added to the pasta, just on the side for a mediocre plate and left hungry. We also got pizza logs during HH which were $8 instead of $10. Taste is decent, but prices definitely don't reflect the quantity. In NY, $23 would get me a plate to share and STILL have leftovers. Won't be coming back. EDIT - in response to the owner's "good luck" comment, I did find a great tasting penne vodka with LOTS of sauce AND chicken cutlet AND had leftovers for $20 @ Pomodoro Pizza Pasta in Aurora : go check it out!
Genuinely blown away by all the great reviews, this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. With tip we paid about $55 for the pizza logs, a chicken parm sandwich, and spaghetti with chicken parm. Overlooking the fact that they weren’t packed and the service was insanely delayed short staffed? too many online orders? who knows?, the food itself was so disappointing. The pizza logs were chewy in the worst way. It seems like they double wrap in wonton wrappers so while the outside one gets crispy, the inside wonton remains raw and chewy. Womp. Not a fan of the red sauce whatsoever. Personal preference sure but I’ve had jarred sauce much better, it was quite watery and tasted like gussied up cheap ketchup. The chicken parm brought out to accompany my spaghetti was 1 bland/unseasoned and 2 greasy vs crispy. Partner’s chicken parm sandwich was also a dud coming with very little sauce making it almost dry and, again, under seasoned chicken. He did enjoy the side salad, though. Considering the price we tried to just shovel down the food but we couldn’t even finish our meals and left with half the food still on the plates. Had anyone been around we would have requested a refund but it was tough enough to get a refill on water. After a long day of looking forward to this reservation, so disappointed.
