Pretty good breakfast. Breakfast was 0730-1130 when I went, it seems like they're figuring out breakfast hours. Coffee was hot, they had cream and sugar and the cup was big. I got a single pancake, they usually come 3 or 4. They're a little thicker and chewier than I expected but it was great. I covered it in butter and syrup and the syrup was not super sweet so that was nice. I also got the breakfast bowl with sausage and bacon, you can choose 1 or both meat. I think next time I'll just get bacon, I'm not a sausage fan. The peppers and onions were cooked but not burnt or mushy. The hashed browns were less crispy than I like and I probably prefer a breakfast bowl to be all mixed up but the food was cooked well and seasoned well too. Price was good too, not cheap, not expensive. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Dinah's is the quintessential classic fried chicken spot! Located on the east side of Los Angles—this place is a hidden gem tucked amidst the swank Galleria shopping district in the foothill enclave of Glendale, California just beneath the Vergudo Mountains. The ambiance is a perfect blend of folksy and traditional with carved wooden furniture and ornamental decór laid about in a fashion not dissimilar to what one might expect to see in an old guard Dixieland dining room of a grand home in the southern United States. The seats, tables, and flatware were all exceptionally clean and the restroom areas were also noticeably well-kept. Service was top-notch with polite and pleasant staff readily available at every turn. Food was served within minutes of placing our orders and came out piping hot with generous portions and no room for regrets. We ordered the Chicken Dinners, which come with three pieces of perfectly crispy golden fried chicken along with two sides and a dinner roll. My order included mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and an extra chicken drumstick for $1 as part of the Friday Special. The potatoes were rich and smooth. The mac was creamy, oozing with cheese, and it had a perfect bite to the pasta. And the dinner rolls were as to be expected. I could not have been happier, as this place satisfied my every craving for southern comfort food without all of the off-putting qualities of a standard, fast-food chicken spot. If you're in the mood for a good fried chicken dinner the way it should be done, at a reasonable price, Dinah's is the way to go. Five Stars across the board.
Let me tell you this was a 10/10 the food was spot on. Nothing fancy and nothing trying to be more than it really is. Just good classic fried chicken with good juicy meat and a nice crunch. I got the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes as my sides. The mac and cheese was a much better than I anticipated. I and the potatoes well let's say they hit that spot on as well. This is the typ of food you would expect your moms friend that knows how to cook would make you. It's a very solid meal and the price is well worth the eating. I definitely would recommend to anyone that enjoys classic good fried chicken.
Amazing place for fried chicken. Juicy, flavorful, simply delicious. All the side were great as well. The staff were friendly and informative. I’d highly recommend a detour to go there if you’re even remotely close.Food: 5/5
Horrible, food was too greasy, it was dripping oil. I ordered chicken and fish, the fish was like chewing gum. I cannot enjoy pineapple cole slaw. The waitress tried to be nice but the food was really bad.Food: 1/5
3 piece fried chicken - 5 ! Side of pineapple slaw - 5 ! Side of mac and cheese- 5 ! Dinah's Chicken is an old school place near the southern end of Glendale. They have a fun slogan on their menu stating that if their founder had been in the navy they would have been an admiral. The chicken was fantastic. I am a big believer in as fresh from the kitchen as I can get it and this absolutely applies to Dinah's. The chicken was some of the freshest fried chicken I've ever had and it really helps elevate the dining experience. The pineapple slaw was tasty and had a nice but subtle sweet flavor. The mac and cheese was good. I saw many diners order the waffles and I think I might have missed out. A return trip to try the chicken and waffle seems very likely. I was craving fried chicken when I went and they really delivered.
Absolutely one of the best chicken places I have ever experienced. Friends and family come here and are hooked after their first visit. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and it's crispy on the outside and deliciously moist on the inside. The pineapple coleslaw, sounds a little strange, but it is fantastic and one of the best sellers. The waffles are also incredible. April 4th is their 57th year in business. You can dine inside or outside. The staff is friendly and the owner is very hands-on and super nice. Parking: This is located in a strip center and I have typically been able to find parking. The bonds parking lot is right next door and there's plenty of parking there as well.
The food is very good but the family meal I ordered was $56 I ordered a larger Mac and mashed potato and bread and it went up to 87 dollars be careful with the two Hispanic girls on the front make sure you look at your receipt they didn't give me mine always check your receipt. I feel like I got taken advantage of
This is such a cute place! It's a very small place, but they do have quite an extensive take out only menu. Parking lot is small, but have plenty of street parking. The chicken decor is adorable, I absolutely love it. Got the "chicken lunch" which came with 2pcs of delicious and absolutely perfect crunchy fried chicken, 1 side I chose french fries and they were perfectly golden and crispy, and 1 dinner roll. I was surprised that they didn't have sweet tea! But other than that, would definitely recommend! It is delicious fried chicken as it should be made!
Had such a great time at this location. The service was great, fried chicken totally fresh, moist and very good. Pineapple coleslaw definitely a must have for sure. Pie for desert…cherry, apple and lemon meringue were our choices to go and we found them to be very flavorful, great taste and melt in your mouth crust. Will certainly be back for the other menu favorites…waffles, corn on the cob, biscuits. Definitely a winner Dinah’s Chicken…I see you
