Love this store! I live on the east side of Simi and this place is better than Home Depot. I can always get something seasonal... like this Halloween Decor 👇 Whenever I need something for the house whether it’s a plant, a door hinge, specialty ceiling fan light bulbs, copies of house keys, conditioner for cast-iron pans - I always find it!! Super helpful staff and the store is always clean.

Well,I have waited 35 years for a very desired patio set-well,this was my year to do it!!!!! So I spent my summer doing amazon, craigs list, home depot,lowes-----------I bet 7 fingers on the big stores-the help left me feeling they resented me as a customer.I felt defeated.guess what--------I walked into diy and almost immediately was serviced by 4 people who didn't walk away mid sentence and was so nice and answered all questions-such a difference-----especially when a person is ready to make a big purchase!!!!!!!! Especially after 35 years!!!!! Grandmom got her patio table!!!!!

I grew up shopping in the small hardware stores like Holiday Hardware where you receive personal service. I have lived in Simi Valley for 16 years and DIY has always offered that small town service that the bigger stores lack. As an employee of Gelson's market for nearly 40 years, I know what great service is and tonight DIY really dropped the ball. I arrived at 7:00 pm as the clerk was locking up. I told him all I needed was a light bulb, a one minute purchase. His answer, "Sorry were closed." I waited in the parking lot for five minutes as he opened the door to let the customers out. I guess their doing enough business, and really don't need mine. I made my way to the Home Depo to make my purchase.
