God bless Dollar General. The staff is unfailingly pleasant, despite how hard they're worked. This store is a godsend for those of us living in a rural area. I love not having to haul my cookies all the way to Highland or Edwardsville if I need shampoo or cat food or something. Dollar General offers a surprising variety of grocery staples and baking essentials, in addition to school supplies and other fun stuff.

Some are friendly. But about half are rude and uncaring towards customers. They started with a much more friendly staff in the beginning.

Great buys, like having a mini discount department store right in town, sometimes takes a little time to check out

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff are very rude and are never at the counter when you are ready to check out.
