Dr. Don Harris is one of the most caring, experienced and polite Doctor that we know in the Avian and Exotic animal field. Our  Yellow-fronted Amazon parrot was attacked by a big dog and that caused the bird’s leg to get very bad fractured. Dr. Harris saved our parrot from a lot of misery, pain and suffering and the bird is now doing great and can fully use his leg again. Dr. Harris truly loves and cares for animals. He went the extra mile and devoted all of his time to make our sweet bird healthy again. This Doctor knows what he is doing. We fully trust Dr. Harris and we appreciate and respect his many years of expertise. The cost for the treatment was fairly priced and we recommend Dr. Don Harris and his office to everyone who truly loves their pet.

Dr Harris has cared for my Red Lored Amazon for 20 years. I live on the Florida Gulf Coast and drive all the way over to South Miami each year for my little buddy's checkup. Is it cheap? No......because owning an exotic bird is a lifetime commitment and is very complicated......and expensive. Dr. Harris is compassionate and incredibly knowledgeable. He has cared deeply for my beloved avian pet for decades. I feel that I'm uniquely qualified to rate Dr. Harris as excellent, since I've been going to him for 2 decades.

Knows reptiles, including obscure ones, very well. Thorough work-up and treatment for definitely fair prices, less than I was expecting. Goes above and beyond. Up to date on current literature in the field. Certainly not "all about your money" as other reviewers have stated.

If you're on your way to this place, TURN AROUND! after performing a procedure on my guinea pig, that did nothing to improve his condition and charging an astronomically high fee, he ultimately did nothing to help my dying beloved pet. As his condition continued to decline, losing hair, not eating, teeth falling out, this quack told me "oh it's just from stress" REALLY??!! My pet eventually died after receiving no real help at all from this pet slayer! I have three remaining pets and I'll be damn if he ever touches one! He's all about your money!

By the way if I could give 0 stars I would. If you are looking for a vet that will charge you extremely high prices and do nothing to help you, than this is the vet for you. I went to this vet for a second opinion after researching a lot of different vets for my dying bird. He seemed like he would help in the beginning but ran every test for a total bill of $800.00..  Then after that he told me there is nothing he could do. He didn't even consult my current vet who treated my bird for years. I felt used and sad that he just wanted the money and not even try to help me.
