Visited the Donut shop on a family vacation to Gatlinburg. It was the worst experience of the vacation. The lady cashier was very rude and had the nastiness attitude. If I had not promised my children that they could have a treat we would have spent our hard earned money elsewhere. Don't waste your time or money on the ungrateful establishment.

The Donut Friar is a Gatlinburg staple. And has been since 1969! It's located on the aquarium end of the strip tucked back in The Village Shops, just behind the fountain. It's cozy (aka tiny) inside. They have 2 tables downstairs, but quite a bit more upstairs. They have an assortment of you basic donuts and danishes and pastries. As well as coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider and fountain pop to drink. They also make specialty coffee drinks, including espresso as well. Those drink options are located on the back wall. 

There are also hand crafted mugs for sale along the back hallway that has an entrance and exit as well if it's crowded and you're looking for a quick escape. The prices here are very reasonable and you can get a box to go as well! I easily both start and end my day here every time!

Great donuts. Great staff. Beautiful location in The Village. Enjoy your donut outside next to the fountain.

The donuts are outstanding the service needs work the young white girl was so nice the black girl with the accent was rude and the skipped over me... But please don't get it wrong the donuts were worth it they are all good especially the French crullers to die for and long johns are the fam favorite
