First the sign said open but one set of doors was locked/would not open. They joked we're open as they unlocked the door we had tried to open. Good cheeses with a few to taste test. Purchased some delicious meat thinking/assuming the price was by the pound like most places. Their price is by the 1/4#, way overpriced. When we went to check out the cashier was holding a nice conversation with a coworker from next door and didn't even acknowledge us until the conversation was completed (while we waited). We will NOT be going back!

Oh my dear sweet baby Jesus. The bandaged cheddar was phenomenal and packaged the same day we bought it!!! Also sampled a delicately priced Riesling and that was phenomenal. We will be returning here for sure. Next time we will have to try the restaurant. :) beautiful. Wonderful customer service.

I appreciated being able to sample anice variety of cheeses before deciding on one i would like. Also did wine tasting & the server was very knowledgeable & not pushy, letting us take our time and not hard sell. Surprised that the Robertson Winery Natural Sweet Rose' was good...not too sweet. Will go again to tour [ 4 Free] the cheese cave.

Great place to watch cheese making. You can ask the master questions while he works. The food is great. Very relaxing place to have a glass of wine outside on the patio.

We were so disappointed in our experience. First, it was likely abnormally busy due to a rainy day on Labor Day weekend. However, the flow of the shop is awful for a busy tourist area. We could barely move, and you had to push and shove just to get to the cases. There are way too many bottlenecks, between the wine case and the meat case then the precut cheese case, and all the folks standing by the windows to look at the cheese making, or waiting by the elevator for a tour. You need to be able to keep folks moving, and you couldn't do that with the layout. In addition the staff was making it worse, as they would stop a customer right in the middle of the bottleneck to see if they needed anything. Second, there was no control of the service. I was being helped and then suddenly they left me to help someone else, everyone again pushing to get to the case and no one knew who was next. Suggestion, have more samples out if you aren't going to be able to give a customer time to sample the cheese. I'm not paying $20 for 1/2 pound of cheese that I don't know if I like or not. We used to spend about 20 or 30 minutes at the old Schoolhouse Cheese store in town, and between $150 to $200 in a visit. We barely spent 10 minutes here, spent less than $40, even though we wanted to get more. We couldn't even accurately tell if you had a good selection, because there were too many people pushing us around. Lastly, there were people standing in no particular order waiting to cash out, and the longest part of our visit was paying for what little we did get. To help your location out, I would suggest having someone who could just help monitor and guide the flow of traffic, to keep people from feeling so rushed. Have more samples precut, even if behind the counter. And provide some sort of ticket system or other service system. On the plus side, it is a really neat looking location, and the cheese we did get is fantastic.
