While living in Dallas I was accustomed to visiting the 8-story central library, so I wasn't sure what to expect from a much smaller library. However, I have been pleasantly surprised and highly impressed with the Douglas County Libraries online system and the Parker Library facility! I went online and was able to obtain a temporary library card number to place holds for materials online. Once I received notice my holds were ready, I went to the library with my daughter and a very nice and knowledgeable young lady set me up with an official library card and gave me a tour of the library. She stressed that the facility is family friendly and  it shows in all of the different elements geared towards children such as a "light bright" wall, baby play area, and the story time room where you can take your kids for story time every morning. Checkout is also a breeze. You simply place your stack of materials on the pad at the self-checkout stations and it automatically checks everything out, one of the coolest things I've seen!

I respect the good job the town/county and citizens did on this library. it was a great use of our taxes and love everything about this place. staff has always been nice in my experience.

I like this libraries. Stuffs are really helpful. Great atmosphere. I wish they work until 12am. I wish they open early and close late

Is a wonderful library, and is a significant improvement from the old building. I wish there was more selection to choose from in my interests.

I love the new Library.  I think the reviews about the 'Daycare' downstairs are petty. Get over yourselves.  My kids love going to the library because they can play there, be kids, in an environment where they can associate FUN with reading.  If you paid any attention to the library layout, the bottom floor is pretty much all geared towards children (toddlers up to teens), while the upstairs section is more quiet.  This is only one of 2 libraries I know of that sections out portions of the building for kids.  Until this place opened, my kids were less excited about a trip to the library.
