Fine Art Gallery and Consultants

Story

Douglas Flanders & Associates has been providing the Twin Cities with the best the art world has to offer for over forty years. Our specialty stretches from art of the late Nineteenth Century, through Impressionism and Modern Abstraction and on up to the most avant garde of today. We have shown and placed work by masters such as Pablo Picasso, Albert Bierstadt, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Robert Motherwell, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and a host of others.

Flanders has also supported young contemporary talents from around the world and we have always made a place for many impressive area artists as well.

In all, over 500 museum quality exhibitions have been produced by the Flanders Galleries over the years. We have placed works with museums, corporations, and collectors, not only in the area, but across the globe.

We also have one of the largest collections of artwork in the region with hundreds of pieces available for viewing here in the gallery - an invaluable resource that is always changing with new and exciting works. Flanders Contemporary Art also has contacts and connections that span the entire international scene, so finding just the right artwork at the best price is never a problem.

Art is a special form of communication and inspiration. We are proud to be a part of that bridge to discovery and share in the appreciation of this important and lasting medium.

Some of our services include:
•Private and Corporate collection advice
•Appraisal and estate services
•Framing consultation and referral
•Exhibition curation and loans
•An extensive text and slide library
•Representation for auctions
•Shipping, delivery and installation services.

We hope you enjoy what you find here at our Facebook page and encourage a visit to our gallery, both to view the art and to share ideas.

At Flanders I’ve found a surprising range of artworks I’m awfully glad I encountered (usually, for the first time) and that I would consider living with, which I consider a significant distinction. It’s not because they’re well crafted decorative works. They are well crafted, but also have a depth (though they can be light-hearted) in how consistently they exhibit a love of the subject, often a place or a moment, and how eloquently they make tribute to that subject. Flanders’ location on Lake Street in Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood includes two spaces, a gallery that regularly features thoughtfully hung group and individual shows, and a separate annex a half block west where an impressive gathering of paintings and prints by unique and accomplished regional artists as well as surprising selections by world known 20th century artists can be found. The staff are knowledgeable and always up for a friendly and, if you’re interested, thought-provoking conversation about the work on display or your interests in and experiences with art.

As a Twin Cities-based art consultant for more than 35 years, I have utilized Douglas Flanders & Associates as a primary go-to source for artworks I place in law and accounting firms and other businesses. Doug Flanders has a vast knowledge of investment level artists and access to works available on the market at any one time. Doug and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. With the hundreds of affordable artworks in inventory by local and regional available for purchase, it’s a treat to visit the Douglas Flanders & Associates galleries.

Flanders Gallery has a friendly and informative staff. You can view old masters, contemporary classics, and regional artists. This is time well spent for an outing in the city!

I loved the show of Stanley Boxer and Joyce Weinstein. My Mom Dorothy Berenson Blau handled both Boxer and Weinstein in her Bal Harbour, Florida gallery of 52 years, I missed seeing the canvases in her gallery and now got to view them at Flanders. The sensitive textures and depth and thick media lets your mind wander. I LOVED THE SHOW. Thank You, Jim Berenson Hopkins, Minnesota

Any art gallery that hosts artists who culturally appropriate is not a gallery worth going to.
