You have probably never tasted REAL salt water taffy. Quality ingredients in time tested recipes is your guarantee of quality candy! Unfortunately, most taffy is made with a large amount of corn syrup and inexpensive imitation flavors. Douglass salt water taffy is made with a higher sugar content, some corn syrup, and the most expensive natural flavors on the market. The Douglass Family continues to improve upon family recipes dating back to 1919. We do hope you will find our taffy incomparable.
The art of candy making is a Douglass tradition. There are truly essential characteristics needed to produce a superior piece of candy. First, each ingredient is taste tested and inspected before actual production begins. Only then does the art of candy making begin. A tremendous amount of expertise is required to master complicated machinery, precise cooking times, and proper blending techniques. Douglass fresh cream fudge begins with fresh light cream, homogenized milk, fondant, and pure butter. Corn syrup is never used to thicken Douglass Fudge. All of our candies are made daily in our own kitchens so preservatives are never needed. Our commitment to quality is evident only after one samples one our fine pieces of candy!
