Downers Grove Animal Hospital & Bird Clinic is a modern, well equipped, full service animal hospital dedicated to nurturing the bond between you and your canine, feline, avian, or exotic family member. In addition to our veterinary services we offer boarding and grooming facilities on site as well as obedience training services with our certified trainer.

Our family has been privileged to serve our community for over 60 years and we would be honored to help you to care for your family.

We have used Downers Grove Animal Hospital for well over 10 years.  We had several  Guinea pigs and now our second dog receiving care from various doctors at this facility.   I’ve never left there feeling unheard or that my animals were missed treated. Quite the opposite actually. The staff, including the doctors, have always made sure that I understood exactly what their perspective was on any situation we were dealing with and helped to get the best medical care for each illness/concern.

Gary loves to visit and staff gives him lots of love. Doctors are all well trained and good with the pets in there care. Gary was just treated for an ear infection and is doing very good. I will always bring my dogs to the Downers Grove Animal Hospital.

Took our little dog to DGAH late in the day for what we considered an emergency. Dr Gus promptly checked her & diagnosed her problem.  We guickly set up a surgery date & Dr Gus did a great job, on the surgery & follow up.
We couldn’t be happier with the prompt attention and follow up. The office staff has been super efficient & friendly as well. Highly recommend them.

This establishment is terrible and does not have empathy for the owners or the pets they diagnose. Conflicting diagnosis and treatment from both vets. The vet tech made our dog cry out in pain (this is different from her nervous or distressed cry, I know this from raising her for 8 years.) many times while cleaning her ears and said it was normal. That is not normal for our dog and never has been at home or at the other vets she has been to.  $400 later and nothing was wrong with our dog.  We will never come back here again.  These other reviews are a sham.  There is no way this place could have gotten so many stars. Do not take your pup here if you love them. We will not be returning. Both of the Dr. Merkin’s are extremely arrogant and one of the vet techs is terribly rude.
