This credit union has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've used Wells Fargo in the past, Bank of America, etc... I've never spoken to such flagrantly rude, dismissive and overtly hostile customer service agents in my life. The credit union put a hold on my card for no apparent reason, without notifying me. They did this after a previous customer service experience I had with a manager, who actually mocked me on the telephone call. It was clearly retaliatory. I called to find out what was happening once my card was declined, and the agent who answered stated that they'd never do that without my knowledge, and that I must've been aware of the situation. I tried to tell him that was not the case, that the card was canceled without my knowledge and for no reason, but he talked over me repeatedly, even when I asked him to let me finish, and was so staggeringly indifferent and eager to get rid of me that finally he just fell silent and then, after a while, simply asked if I wanted to transfer my money to another account so I could access it. I asked why it was that he couldn't tell me why the card was canceled and why I wasn't informed once it was, and his response was: "Listen, sir, you can just go ahead and keep asking questions I don't have the answer to, or you can just wait for me to call you back once I know." He then stated that he didn't know when I'd get a call back. Additionally, the credit union's mobile banking app is so glitchy as to make banking practically impossible on numerous occasions. I've truly never been treated as poorly by any corporation as I have been by Downey. Unless you're someone who enjoys paying for abuse, unless you're looking to combine the worst of big bank customer service with the limitations of a one-branch credit union, then go ANYWHERE but here. I really can't review this place negatively enough.

Doing business with them has always been a rewarding and satisfying experience. Now,if only they'll approve my request for a loan. Then I'll give them 5 stars.

I have been a member for quite a few years. They were the first financial institution to support me after a tough financial time. I had to get a savings account first, and then a secured credit card. I now have checking, savings, over draw credit, and I am working on getting a personal loan. If things go well, I may decide to use them for my first Home purchase loan as well. Even though Downey is a small town, DFCU are a HUGE help to us all!

Recently DFCU rolled out a flawed online banking system, with broken and unavailable features. After 5 days, they have not solved these issues. I rate DFCU one star. A professional banking institution should have planned to ensure the migration of their system would include working features from the previous system. After this incident, I don't know if I could continue to take seriously this bank.
