I had two hip scopes performed 9 years ago for FAI by another physician in a different state. When I met Dr. Gwathmey I had practically no internal rotation and my hip was catching/clicking with the simplest of movements. He did revision surgeries on both hips - removing bone that had grown back and bone that should have been removed previously, along with repairing torn labrums. My recovery from each surgery went smoothly and I've returned to all the strenuous activities (BMX, hiking, etc) I couldn't do before the surgery. I'd recommend Dr. Gwathmey to anyone. He really cares about his patients and their outcomes, and that's apparent from the moment you meet him.

I had a labral tear that I nursed along with every thing I could throw at it except surgery. Hours of physical therapy, stopping running, acupuncture, anti-inflammatories, injections, you name it. I woke up in less pain than I had before surgery. Can't believe I waited with two years of pain before doing the surgery. Best thing I've done in a very long time.

Dr. Gwathmey is the best doctor I have had. He performed a labral repair surgery on my hip. He went out of his way in pre-surgery consults and post surgery to make himself available and answer any questions or concerns. He’s very down to earth, caring, and knowledgeable. I trusted him every step of the way and would refer him to anyone having hip problems. Great doctor and great guy!

My wife had surgery on her hip for a torn labrum, by Dr. Gwathmey a year ago. Before the surgery she could walk without a Cane. After the surgery could barely walk with a cane in severe pain. Now its a year later with no improvement to her condition and Dr. Gwathmey wiped his hands clean of a bad surgery. We have no end in sight into bringing any quality of life back. I would recommend looking for someone else to perform this type of surgery.
