It was awful. I was treated like a junkie looking for drugs. No compasion at all for my documented cronic pain condition due to a work related injury. My previous doctor could no longer prescribe for me once I got my referral. It was over a month before I could be seen by Dr. Ispirescue. I was allowed to go for that full time with no pain management. No one could understand why I was upset and less than cheerful having gone so long with no pain management and even less sleep. A woman was sitting outside the building in a wheel chair waiting for a ride. She had received the same. Don't expect an ounce of compassion from this doctor.

Expect to be treated incredibly poorly and unprofessionally if you are even slightly overweight. Your pain will not be treated. What you will receive is a lecture about your weight from a sickly looking vegetarian who looks like he can barely lift a clipboard. Additionally he'll push a vegetable only diet without apparently understanding that if you are overweight the reason you're overweight is not because you eat too much and have the nerve to eat meat and fat but rather the beta cells in your pancreas can't handle the extremely high amount of sugar and starch which is turned in to sugar during the digestion process. He clearly does not know or understand how and why the body produces fat. Here's a Biology 101 lesson for the doctor and anyone reading: Your body will turn excess sugars in to fat. It does not just plop any fat you eat on to your fat cells. Additionally pushing increased sugar and starch consumption on a fat person is just ordering them to develop diabetes, heart disease, and a host of other related conditions. He'll also mention calories which goes one step further in demonstrating that this doctor didn't pay attention in his chemistry courses. The calorie is a nonsense diet metric as no human literally burns their food. The calorie is a great way to know if a food is good for fire but isn't a worthwhile metric for a system that is powered by acid based chemical reactions that do not involve the ignition of the foodstuffs. Additionally the staff will forget you are waiting to see him because if you are seeing him at Idaho Pain Clinic's Washington location you are not seeing this doctor in his own office but rather the hospital in Newport, which is deserving of a negative review of its own. If you do manage to be remembered by the terrible staff you're still in for a major wait as they overbook their appointment slots and don't seem capable of handling the workload. Lastly if this doctor's got ethical or moral issues with treating people with pain relieving medications he should think about switching specialties. The reason patients go to pain clinics is to get their pain taken care of. If it bothers this doctor that his job is to be the gatekeeper to pain relief and can't handle the thought that patients may become addicted to their medication then he really needs to switch jobs. I recommend waste disposal that way he can still have his moral dilemmas which he appears to need and the patients he would see might be able to see a provider that can handle treating chronic pain. Overall seeing this "doctor" was an insulting and aggravating waste of my time. I wish I could bill this joke of a doctor for my time, fuel costs, and the irritation I experienced.

I can't believe some of these reviews!! Dr. Ispirescu is a rare and amazing Doctor . Let me start with whats going on in the medical world. People, everything is changing for legitimate pain patients. The Dr. That I've been seeing for over 8 years who not only was the middle man for all my specialists in Seattle and Oregon, prescribed and managed my pain medications (all per recommendations ,tests and procedures from specialists ) was informed that all patients on long-term opiod pain management had to be referred to a "pain specialist /clinc" This is happening all over the U.S.!! There's a staggering number of patients with legitimate pain needing both care and compassion from an already overloaded field looking for help, especially in Idaho and Washington to which the Majority of pain specialists either won't take, or Insist on a "Forced Reduction" against your wishes or choice . Stopping most or All opiod therapy completely .which leaves a patient with constant and acute pain helpless, hopeless and looking for help. Dr. Ispirescu from my 1st appointment listened, asked questions was compassionate and understanding. The 1st appt. with any Doctor (Especially one for pain ) will NOT prescribe anything especially opiods as not just a precaution for them but the patient as well (any Dr who does is WRONG unless it's an ER ) to give time for any tests to come in , read medical records, confer with Your other Doctor(s) etc (he made sure my referring Dr. was still managing my meds in the meantime) a 2nd appointment was made before leaving and that appointment was when we came up with a plan of care . Dr. Ispirescu was even more attentive and amicable our 2nd appt. Not only myself but my Caregiver and friend who goes to ever Dr appt with me , felt not only comfortable and happy with his bedside manner but his attention and time he spent answering questions . I understand that He is a busy Doctor but as I stated in the beginning he must be getting so many requests for pain patients let alone all the surgical procedures with Back patients not just at the Sandpoint location but at the clinics Washington location as well, in no way have I ever felt rushed by him ( I can't imagine how he has any personal time himself) The entire office staff are Amazing!!! I don't understand the reviewers that claim otherwise Because my experience from phone calls to front desk all the way through to nurse and Nurse Practitioner to Doctor I've had pleasant ,cheery and personable experiences above and beyond. I believe people treat you the way you treat them but still this office and entire staff are nothing but refreshingly personable, upbeat and accommodating.

Each experience is very individual, After reading the 3 reviews I felt that it would be very hard to believe those who are actually ranting against this clinic. Maybe you had to wait a bit, let me tell you the real reason that pain clinics are different from a regular Dr's office.. As a pain patient I was seeing the same Dr in a Seattle Clinic "Minor & James". I was getting help there until my Dr retired (I was with him since 1995). Because of the government and what they are doing all clinics including Minor & James kicked ALL pain patients out. You might notice that there are many "pain clinic" opening up now...that is why. The doctors are overwhelmed and under the gun when helping pain patience. I read a lot about the pain clinics and I was so scared, most were there to get people off medication and treated patience as if they were Dr shopping and their goal was to get ALL pain patience off of medication. I didn't know what I would do if I had to deal with those clinics. Drs. all over would not take pain patience! There are many patients that have chronic pain and there just isn't a cure put pain medication helps many of us get through the day. Remember many of us are 70 years old and more, DA, The list is too long to share, there are many chronic pain issues for us; no cure. The day came when I went to see Dr Ispirescu and his staff. They took a lot of time looking at my records and the many years I've been in terrible pain. All the right questions were asked. Because I had been on the same dose of pain med since 1995 and they help me through each day, they kept me on my retired Dr's program. I was shocked because from what I read I thought that pain clinics were there to take you off pain medications. Naturally there are people that are on them for the wrong reasons and they may have to work on other ways to get their pain under control. Recently during an appointment a women asked me if I would consider giving them my DNA, I said yes. When I got the results back I was relieved to know that I was not going to become an addict (my DNA is very clear about results) The other finding was if I say I am in pain I AM IN PAIN. Then it covered some medication and explained what type would not be good for me and would react against my body (DNA). I thought that the Dr would benefit knowing what their patients DNA was so they could better plan for them. I was asked to do another DNA and am still waiting for the results, this one will cover most if not all types of medication and what I should avoid taking. I thought this pain clinic cared about their patients. It is up to us to be prepared with question and if possible create a plan that you can work on to help yourself. Not everything they have tried worked but at least we tried. I have to live with this pain and I am thankful that this clinic is there for us. I hope they can continue to work with us without the government scaring them to death or worse closing them down because they do help patients and if they would really benefit by taking pain pills and be respectful of them. I don't know what I will do (and all other real pain patients) if something would make them close. Many people would not be able to live because of the pain. When I see any Dr. I get the Dr's notes, it is helpful to have a record of what was done and said. Thank you Dr Ispirescu and staff. I wouldn't want your job, it would be very hard to deal with the variety of patients that come in. The people that are writing bad reviews apparently have not tried to get a Dr. to take them, there are not any in Sandpoint and all American cities. We are living in very unsettling times and at 70 years old this trouble is the last thing I thought our government would do to harm us. The people abusing medication are in the spotlight and the people who NEED the pain medications are being punished along with the doctors.
