I have been going to Dr. Fontanez for about 4 years now because i have high cholesterol and I am on a statin. He is great!! He has a super 'bedside manner' and he really takes the time to review bloodwork and answer questions. He is also very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him!

Though I really like Dr. Fontanez  I had an issue with a receptionist the first time i visited him.. she was rude which was unnecessary.. the second time I saw him there were two nurses that gave me reason not to return... one took my blood pressure and kept pumping my arm until I said "It's starting to hurt.." It was really getting painful which is unusual.. She just said "Yup.."  I told her again and she said the same thing still pumping away so I asked the other nurse if maybe she couldn't hear me with the stethoscope in her ears,  the other nurse looking straight at me just ignored me.. That nurse took my temp and I noticed the plastic sheath on the thermometer had something on it that rubbed off on my tongue, like it might have been discarded and reused.. I was sick to my stomach later that night.. It also took the office a week to fax my blood work script to a lab they finally did it after I called back a week later..  Fishkill is generally conservative and I'm gay so not sure if some of that was homophobia..?? So even though I actually really like Dr. Fontanez allot I'm definitely going to find another doc with a sane competent staff..
