Story

I am a Health Centered Dentist in Los Altos, CA with a passion for restorative and cosmetic dentistry. I feel that it is most important to give patients their treatment options and let them decide how to proceed. My team and I are committed to partnering with our patients to achieve HEALTH, not just control disease. In a Health-Promoting Model, the relationship between dentist and patient is inter-dependent: patients seek and gain education from their dentist and become active participants in achieving health. In this system, patients set their own goals for achieving health and the dentist helps them become as healthy as they choose to be.

I grew up in Los Altos, CA. My dad, Ed Schweifler was a dentist in Los Altos, and his father practiced dentistry in San Francisco. My passion in dentistry is to promote health and help my patients attain a level of health that they desire. I believe that not all people value the same level of healthcare and it is important to educate everyone on treatment options, but ultimately respect each individual's choice of treatment.
I have a passion for learning and therefore continually seek to further my knowledge by training with the most premier dental educators in restorative dentistry, implant dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. I am also actively involved in the Peninsula Dental Academy, a local dental study club and far exceeds the California Dental Board mandates for continuing dental education.

With a Masters in Public Health, I am committed to providing dental health education in several different arenas. I am involved in community service, including independently organizing a fundraiser for multiple sclerosis. I enjoy giving dental prevention talks to various organizations in the local Los Altos and surrounding communities, and writing dental health articles in local newspapers.

My wife and I enjoy spending time with our three children and exposing them to the beautiful natural environment in which we live. I love mountain biking and view the ocean as my ultimate sanctuary. As a third generation dentist, I feel blessed to be raising my kids in Los Altos, where I grew up.
