I have come to Dr. Powers' office several times for various issues in the last several years and in no way can I describe how amazing her practice is. The staff are easy to work with and extremely polite and punctual. Dr. Powers is always very thorough and knowledgeable about her field but is still able to explain what is going on at a level I feel anyone could understand. 

I will say, because she is a specialist, it is a bit expensive but the quality of service easy matches if not exceeds what I pay. Simply put, every time I go to her office to help diagnose/relieve whatever symptoms I may have be having at the time I know I will be getting quality care and experience even before I arrive.

She was awful! Controlling and not kind. I was thinking she was looking at my ear. Instead she inserted the tube without my knowledge and no warning. I cried due to the shock of what was happening. I told her it hurt and I asked for something to numb the pain. She said only babies need to be sedated. I'm currently seeing Dr. Daniero at UVA. I wouldn't send my enemy to her!

Dr. Powers is the best! She is knowledgable and efficient with a great bedside-manner. In addition to seeing Dr. Powers myself, I have brought multiple of my children to see her, and my mother loves her as well. Dr. Powers even once came into the office after hours to see my daughter for an emergency when she didn't have to. I would recommend Dr. Powers to anyone in need of an ENT without reservation!

My wife and son came to see Dr. Powers because we were referred to her thinking she could help our son.  Dr. Powers was dismissive, belittling, and confrontational.  Of course she is entitled to her medical opinion, but her delivery was condescending and demeaning.  She rolled her eyes when my wife explained why the neurologist sent us to an ENT...my 13 year old son noticed that special bedside manner.  Good job Dr. Powers, hope you feel good about yourself.   I can guarantee my son learned a valuable lesson today...never act like you.  He will not remember your name 5 years from now, but he will remember the way you made him feel and that you made his mother cry.  Karma.
