Dr. Ayo has been my Family Physician for several years. She is smart, understanding, caring, and compassionate. It is obvious that she stays up-to-date on medical procedures, medications, and the latest trends in medicine. In addition, she is personable and accessible. Her staff is equally knowledgeable and compassionate. I simply can't imagine placing my medical care in the hands of anyone else!

I have been going to Dr. Ayo for almost seven years now. She is not your everyday Doctor who thinks one prescription of Penicillin cures all. She is a good listener, she looks at each one of my cases and the overall big picture of my medical history, then she makes a decision. Lately, I have been getting to see Laura a lot since I am not in the Concierge program. She has been great and I know she consults with Dr. Ayo on my cases if she has any issues. My coworker "Mark" asked if I knew of a good doctor. Mark, has been seeing her now for I'm guessing two years and has nothing but praises for Dr. Ayo and her staff. So all in all, I have been getting great service since day one.

Horrible is all I can say about this practice!!! When you first walk into the clinic it is very pretty and everyone is nice and says hello, but after several visits, then you actually see the staffs true colors. The lady up front is very sweet and I have nothing bad to say about her, but as far as Dr. Ayo and her nurse, well all I can say about them is.Well ....... They are not very caring.. her nurse Laura is always in a rush and acts spastic! I had seen Dr. Ayo several times, and had actually seen her when she had a nurse practitioner hired some years back. The nurse practitioner was nice, but she didn't last long. I still continued to see Dr. Ayo, but always had a problem with her nurse Laura calling me back when she said she would. I always had to call multiple times and one day when I was in the office and ask about a return call in front of Dr. Ayo and Laura, Laura lied and said she tried to call me back and got no answer, and that was a lie. After I went into the room I heard Laura through the door tell Dr. Ayo that I never even called, which is a complete lie. Then what really done it for me is when I was coming to the office for a follow up to discuss my labs, there was a new medical assistant who had just started the day before and she was in the room getting my blood pressure and going over my medications, and since it was her second day, she was still learning and she had to step out and get help. Laura came in and very fast flew through the computer screens so fast my eyes couldn't keep up with her, and then turned around and left he poor girl to fend for herself. She even went on to tell the girl. "remember I showed you yesterday". The new nurse was sweet and just smiled it off. The fact that it was her second day and Dr. Ayos' nurse was treating her this was very upsetting. It is like you could tell that she did not want the new girl there. Then Dr. Ayo hires a Nurse Practitioner and started this whole "concierge medicine" she hired another nurse practitioner for those who cant afford to see her. Even still at this point I was upset about the whole "concierge" deal, but I really liked the nurse practitioner she hired, and I loved her nurse so I was still going to stay. Then the next time I came in the dark haired nurse was gone, and when I ask Laura what happened to her she said shes out for the day. Well I found out later that the nurse had quit, and that she wasn't coming back. She always called me back, usually with in 30 minutes and I never had to wait for days to hear back. But I still liked Diane and I was going to keep seeing her, until the next time I came back, then Diane was gone. So then I got to see Dr.Ayo, the one I could not see before unless I paid her every month. I thought after that I would just continue to see Dr. Ayo, but guess what??? NOT HAPPENING!!! When I called to make a sick appointment with Dr. Ayo, I was told that I could not see her unless I was doing concierge, and that she had hired ANOTHER nurse practitioner. The next trip to Dr. Ayos office, I once again was having to start all over with another practitioner. And a new nurse!!!The lady I saw was very nice, but is very young and you can tell shes fresh out of school. One of my friends daughter went to school with this girl, and I know for a fact that she is not even a legal nurse practitioner yet, So for all of the people who are not doing Dr. Ayos concierge, you might want to know that you are NOT even seeing a licensed nurse practitioner. The next time you go into her office ask to see her credentials and license. This office is a joke.

Initially, she was a great doctor or at least I thought. Then recently I received a letter about how she was going to "concierge" service and limiting her practice to only people who pay a membership fee. That's right, a membership fee... on top of your standard medical premiums that you pay, plus your co pays, and your deductibles, and any script costs - now you need to also pay to be a "member" of Dr. Ayo's Special Medical Country Club and if you pay her required monthly fee, well THEN you can see the doctor. Otherwise, if you're unable or unwilling to afford this "membership fee" (with "unprecedented access!"), then you can see her "new well-qualified nurse practitioner". I expect doctors to make money and live well as it is a critical, much needed occupation. However, something about all of this sits very badly with me. Can I afford it? Yes. Do I want to? No. And rather than take the consolation prize of a "well qualified" (and completely new to the practice) not-doctor, I will just move on. If you think that you want a doctor who believes that quality medical care is for the rich, well then put down your fancy drink and give them a call because she is the right doctor for you. Good luck! (And to the other reviewer who said she seemed greedy, I believe this new development completely supports your viewpoint.)

PLEASE READ....the following are my own personal opinions and comments, unsolicited by any party or person and meant to reflect my own personal experiences and opinions about Dr Ayo and her medical practice (I'm not compensated in any fashion by any party or person, nor am I receiving any benefits from Dr Ayo with respect to this review): What an amazing practice where the patient is first in all aspects. Having been a patient at two other practices in the past 20 years where myself and my family felt like cattle in a herd, it's amazing and refreshing to know that Dr. Ayo and her staff not only spend time with you, they follow up to make sure your ok, on-track and feeling better about what has been implemented. This is exemplary of what I believe all medical practices should strive to be, patient oriented with a focus on the medical interests of care focused on the individual, not the system. My only regret...having not made this change to a membership medical arrangement a long time ago. I couldn't recommend Dr Ayo and her staff more! For those unwilling to accept that our country is changing the very essence of medicine and medical practices, I would suggest doing your due diligence with some forward thinking before criticizing individual practicioners and judging them or their general patient base for being anything but accessible and centrally focused on the patient. Dr Ayo has positioned herself to complete her scope and focus to get results for the patient, not the system. If paying for that service is not in ones interest, there are plenty of other arrangements and physician groups you can align yourself with. I don't judge or criticize any one person for their decisions on medical care, I would just hope that you consider the full landscape of medicine and medical care in our country before casting a judgement. I am not in the medical profession, but I am in the circle of patients who value a "real" relationship with my Dr and am more than willing to pay for that care. My own personal investment in membership medicine has not only proven itself to be beneficial for myself and my family, but the cost for this will actually save me time and money going forward. That's because Dr Ayo's proactive care approach, has me on track to spend less for prescriptions, medical co-pays, labs and many other costs I have had in the past, where medical providers couldn't spend the time with me to identify my needs and create guidelines and efficient recommendations going forward, but rather I come to find I previously had "re-active" medical care. That wasn't a solution, it was that much more of a problem. For those who are considering membership medicine, I say make the move and give Dr Ayo a chance, I would be hard pressed to think you will be anything but satisfied in the end....and feeling a lot healthier and happier about life. Bottom line: it's an investment in your health and well-being, do you put a price tag on that?
