I saw Dr. Valente for 10 years, and I like him because of his professional attitude and medical decision and communications with the patients. Would recommend him to friends.

I had an appointment to be evaluated for RA. I have had xray of right shoulder 2 years ago and it showed arthritis ("significant" according to doctor from my hometown). Dr. Valente didn't take xray or blood work. I was referred to RA doc. by my family physician here in Lincoln. Anyway, Valente felt around my joints and decided I have no arthritis. Proceeded to basically just insult me. Dictated his notes to computer as if I weren't present. Said I need to lose weight (i'm about 20lbs over weight for my frame). I shared with him that I was having a liver biopsy because of abnormal blood work following a gallbladder procedure and an ERCP. So then he states, "You're a pretty big drinker, are ya." I told him of course, "No, I'm not. If fact my liver has never caused me problems and my blood work was normal before these procedures." Valente then told "the computer" that since I'm a stay at home mom, I need to make getting fit "my job".
