Don Rice, M.D., FAAFP
Donald T. Rice, M.D., FAAFP currently owns and operates the Urgent Care Clinic of Lincoln. The clinic opened in November of 2005 and has been serving the greater Lincoln area. Dr. Rice has a background in both family and emergency medicine and takes advantage of both to blend these backgrounds into the Urgent Care environment.
Dr. Rice received his doctoral training at Creighton University School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Riverside General Hospital by serving as Chief Resident in 1996.
Dr. Rice returned to Nebraska and worked primarily in rural Nebraska in primary care and emergency medicine from 1996-2002. He served as the Assistant Medical Director of the Columbus Community Hospital Emergency Room up to 2002.
Dr. Rice maintains outside professional activities as well. He serves as a medical and technical consultant to both the State of Nebraska and the State of Alaska. Dr. Rice's current project assignment is the development and implementation of electronic statewide data collections for Alaska. In Nebraska, Dr. Rice serves as the Physician Medical Director Consultant to the office of Emergency Medical Services in the Department of Health and Human Services. Before going on to graduate school in medicine, Dr. Rice received training as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. In addition to his EMT training, Dr. Rice completed a certificated training program in Law Enforcement at the San Bernardino Sheriff's Academy giving him exposure to law enforcement and public safety as well.
Urgent Care Clinic Of Lincoln will provide care if you can't see a regular doctor, need immediate care, need affordable care, can't wait for an ER physician or if you need labs or x-rays. We are open Monday - Friday 8 am - 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday's 10 am - 5:30 pm. You can even check our website for wait time!
We are known for the quality care we give and the time we take to talk with our patients. Please don’t wait until the “closing rush hour”. Many people are waiting until our last check-in hour. Since we take our time with our patients, this can mean 20-30+ minute wait time for you, even at 8pm. Come and see us when you need help. Don’t wait until after dinner when the symptoms started at 9am.
