My experience with Dr. Scott West was a blessing because he helped me out several times and I'm very grateful for that help. He's the only nerosurgen that I would allowed to operate on me. Thank you

I first saw Dr. West as a 47 year old in 2007 and he did not recommend any surgery at that time. Five years later, I returned and had a fusion done in Mar 2012. Was fine for about a year or so but required a discectomy and another fusion in Jun and Jul 2014 respectively. I was a hot mess prior to the 2014 surgeries. Was in a great deal of pain and had tried just about everything I could think of to try and avoid more surgery: physical therapy, medical massage, dry needling, pain management, and so on. Unfortunately, my various spinal issues (disc degeneration, stenosis, spondylolisthesis) were severe and only surgery corrected them and relieved my pain and leg numbness. I was extremely satisfied with the results and remain mobile and pain-free to this day thanks to Dr. West and his skill. I told him he can't retire until I'm dead and gone as I will likely need his services again sometime in the future! My wife and I were treated very well by the staff there and viewed them as friends. They were awesome in helping us deal with insurance, short-term disability and scheduling. I highly recommend Dr. West.

If I could give this doctor Zero stars I would. First off the facilities are not what you expect a neurosurgeon’s office to be like. The place smells bad and all the equipment is old. It made me feel like I was at my dog's veterinary clinic. I have been seen by two neurosurgeons in the past and they both recommended for me to have a spine fusion. Dr. West’s recommendation is to wait 5-6 years until a better procedure is available and basically for me to suck up the pain in the meantime. I am 40 years old, active duty military and about to retire in 1 year, there is no way I can wait 6 years hoping that a better procedure is available and continue living with the pain I am feeling now. Dr. West didn’t even gave me any options. His comment was that if I was 77 years old he will perform the surgery, and that is understandable because most of the patients on the waiting room that day were obviously over 70 years old. Maybe he is afraid on performing a surgery on somebody younger. When I told him I wanted more information aboutthe surgery he seemd mad and told me "If that is what you want go to the front desk" and got up and left the office without saying nothing else. I do not recommend this “doctor” to anybody unless you are 70 yrs old or more. Very disappointed and wasted 3 ½ weeks waiting for my appointment.
