Thank you for helping us with legal and unpleasant details in such a quick and professional manner. The day of mom's "celebration" was better than we could have planned. Keith was so helpful, calming, accommodating, and full of great ideas. We loved the space and lovely lounge area. Everyone thought it was just a perfect tribute to her.

My family lived in Oak Park for many many years, so when my mother passed away I looked for a local funeral home. I didn't have any criteria to pick one, but thought the location of this one seemed "nicer" then a closer one. My parent had just died at home, after a long illness, but an unexpected sudden decline. Our family was in shock, as she had only died a few hours ago. But it was a little stressful that the Funeral Home had indicated that it was a "busy day" and was pushing us to let them pick up my mother's body as soon as possible. Give us some time, I asked.... When we arrived at the Funeral Home later that afternoon, we found it clean and pleasant enough, with convenient parking. It's a funeral home.... I'm not going to be critical of decor. We had to wait to see one of the Directors. He was professional, and stepped us through what needed to be done. Paperwork was processed in a timely manner, including the Death certificates, newspaper notifications, and contacting Social Security. Prices seemed high, but my one experience with Funeral Homes years ago suggested to me that this is the norm. It's not a process conducive to "shopping around". I need to mention that I was disappointed this place lacked a personal, empathic, touch. When the meeting was late to start, there wasn't a comfortable place for my elderly father to wait. The Director was young and seemed to lack the touch that someone dealing with traumatized families should have. He was simply business like, rushed, with barely a breath to express condolences. I actually found one of his responses to my surprise on the cost of a service rude. He did apologize that he was running late, and said it was a busy day. It also seemed odd to me that a funeral home, which must have many elderly and disabled visitors, was not more accessible for the disabled. I decided this was not a place to have a service for my parent. We made the necessary arrangements for her cremation, and the rest was done privately. In retrospect, I probably should not have brought my family for the meeting with the Funeral Director.
