"A New York Times article last week outlined how the San Francisco company had used the Greyball program to identify and avoid local regulators who were investigating the service. The article, which cited four former and current Uber employees, said the company had used Greyball to thwart authorities in various cities in the United States and other countries" Dublin partnering with Uber or Lyft should be out of three question. Driver are required by the city to obtain a business license, yet for thousands of rideshare drivers who own their own car service and are considered self employed independent contractorstudy an exception is made. Everyone else pays taxes to the city and plays by the rules, yet the individualsame don't? Dublin knows Uber is an Unlawful company yet it still continuesays to partner with them. In the agreement it also ignored the it's own requirements to drug test these drivers before allowing them to transport passengers. Alsour to make maters worse, it also won't even be fingerprinting drivers to be sure these drivers picking up passengers have been checked for criminal records including sexually related crimes. I grew up in Dublin, it's my home town. This is extremely disappointing. I'll remember this when it's time to vote.
