I am giving two stars because I love the doctors in this practice. They lose three because scheduling an appointment here is a nightmare. I have actually changed pediatricians because it is so difficult. They will not allow scheduling of a sick appointment for the next day when they are full for the current day. However, when you call the next day, they are already booked and I have had to wait days to get an appointment for my sick child. With my school age child, this is especially problematic as I have incurred two and three day absences when, if she could have been seen promptly, it would have only required one day absence. I can't wrap my head around they wat this office handles scheduling.

I am not one to usually write reviews but I felt that I should share my experience. I'm giving a two star review only because everyone I have met here has been very nice. While a nice attitude is GREATLY appreciated and can be hard to come by, it only goes so far when it comes to your child's health. My first negative experience was a pretty emotional one. My baby was about a month old and had been to see the pediatrician a few times already. Every time they weighed her they said everything looked good. At first, I just trusted what they were telling me but after several visits she had not reached her birth weight yet and I thought it was odd so I brought it up. Sure enough, she wasnt gaining enough. Which made sense because she nursed all the time but would cry like she wasn't satisfied (which I brought up in a previous appointment and they said it sounded like she was just in an uncomfortable position). So we started supplementing with formula and she was finally satisfied and gaining well, however, I just felt uncomfortable about the fact that I had to mention the weight gain after they told me everything was looking good... My next negative experience was when we got her first round of vaccines. My husband and I tried to educate ourselves as much as possible by discussing with the doctor if there was anything she felt was unnecessary or the risks outweighed the benefits. She asked if our baby would be in daycare and I said no. She told me the rotovirus vaccine probably wouldn't be necessary then. So after discussing a bit more we decided to pass on it and get everything else. At her next vaccination appointment (with another lady this time) she acted shocked that they acted like passing on the rotovirus wasn't a big deal the last time and told me how babies die from the rotovirus etc. So I agreed to go ahead and get it this time. She said she had to check the computer to see if our baby was too old for the vaccine seeing as how there was an age cut off to get it (that they didn't tell me about when we passed on it and I feel like that would have been good to know). She came back saying the computer said it was fine but when my husband checked online it said our baby was already too old. The lady said the computer wouldn't approve it if it wasn't safe but we still felt wary so she asked a different doctor who then confirmed that our baby was indeed too old. Had we not been hesitant to trust the computer, it seems that they would have gone ahead and given our baby the vaccine after her cut off age. I was also never educated as to what foods I should start feeding my baby at 4-6 months and how much. It was due to my own research that I learned she needed iron rich foods especially after 6 months and the doctors never told me this. There were also a few voicemails that I left that went unanswered and a few times they said they would ask someone else my question and call back but then never called. I know doctors can't teach you everything, but I guess I just expected them to help me be a little more educated or enlightened on these things. Again, everyone was nice. And when I did get in touch with them on the phone they were also friendly and helpful. *UPDATE* The person that was seeing my baby that I had most of these issues with is not there anymore. After she left we saw Dr. Empen and she was great.
