Story

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is the region’s healthcare hub, offering specialty services including cardiovascular surgery, leading-edge cancer treatment, trauma, neurosurgery, intensive care for adults and infants, and a helicopter and ground medical rescue service.

Additionally, EIRMC is the only provider in the region offering perinatalogy services (maternal-fetal medicine) for high-risk pregnancies; neonatology services for extremely premature and critically ill infants; gynecologic-oncology services provided by specialists who focus only on cervical, ovarian, uterine, and other reproductive cancers in women; and inpatient psychiatric services. EIRMC is also the regional leader in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.

Recently, while on vacation, my husband had to go to the ER with chest pains and shortness of breath. Even though it was a holiday weekend, I have never seen such awesome care and such caring people in my life! His Cardiologist,  Doctor Blank, was awesome. I had a feeling of peace as soon as he stepped in the room. Thank you so much to all that helped care for my husband! You made a very hard time in our life bearable.  Thank you for returning my best friend to me!!

I was in there last night.  I felt so cared for.  The staff was friendly and did their jobs with skill and efficiency.  I was really happy with the service I received.

My husband and I both had exploratory colonoscopies this morning. Admissions personnel, nurses, and the doctors provided caring and highly professional services. We had a room together, plenty of warm blankets, and nurses that were able to take time enough to make us feel cared for. The anesthesiologists were very kind and the surgeon, Dr. Olaveson, stopped in after the procedures to give us an update on what he found. This is not standard practice in other hospitals.  All in all a very "pleasant" experience. I am awaiting with interest the invoices for today's services to see how they compare with other Idaho facilities.

Emergency room 5 different times. They give you the ring around and suggest the same test that didn't work will work this time... emergency room and they treat me like I'm a mcdonald's customer. The last time they wouldn't help my emergent pain. It's all an insurance discrimination scam they say isn't there. This whole thing last time was even blamed on trump... in a hospital... throwing political bs on me to shrug me off. I told them i didn't want the ct scan that hasn't worked the last four times, but they gave it to me anyway because I signed a contract..... That's the reason? I have reason to sue for discrimination at this point! I was treated by pharmacists! They even took my appendix out because they needed to just 'say something!' I have hurt worse since then in the same area and was charged for it. If you are in pain, there's gotta be a better hospital within a four hour drive that will offer you physicians for assistance. These guys charge you for no help at all, and make you feel like they give you the bare minimum to get through the day. How am i supposed to get a diagnosis to get help with insurance when they won't even help with a diagnosis without insurance???? No witch hunt is worth writing off as 'just the way it goes' yeah I'm sure trump has as much to do with this bs as clinton and obama's perfect plan did.. But throwing this on them so I writhe in pain in the er???? How low can you get??? They offer you help with financing and that's another bs that takes so long they end up charging you for not paying in the process... and they still don't get back to you. This whole hospital is a scam. I bet they charge people for not being able to save them from imminent death.. Which isn't surprising for any hospital that makes money. But there has to be a better option... i've been in the same excruciating torment kind of pain for over two years and I need an answer now!!! This has crippled me and without a diagnosis I can't 'claim' that... I need help not policy!!!! These guys don't help. They're not a hospital. They're a pharmacy posing as a hospital. There has to be a better option for me... i am begging god for death at this point and willing to post live about it! Please don't support these vampires!

I have recently been to EIRMC and I do give 2 stars because the 2 times I went this summer I was literally in and out within 30 minutes. The first time I went I was going because of a staph infection on my scrutum ( size of a silver dollar,not to pleasent of a feeling) I was concerned because my Dr. Gave me antibiotics 2 days prior and I had been fevering up,I should mention I have auto immune dieses and oastoeprosis and I'm get staph infections frequently. But I new something more was going on. The Dr saw me long enough for me to basically bare and share myself and have her tell me yep,staph infection and to increase the antibiotics.in and out she was less than 30mine,its like she heard staph infection and wanted me out of there..I was embarrassed,and in shock that she didn't even try to get a good look to see if it was anything else.4 wks later a Sunday I come back I had been fevering up since Friday,I had taken Ibprofen and just could not handle this infuriating sore,when I woke up Sunday I had a new rash on my arm..I'm freaking out a bit thinking the worse MERSA..I go in they had me checked in within minutes in a room within a few more,long enough to change in and the Dr. was in..in and out looked at my arm not even my sore,heard STAPH and no nothing he stated my rash was not a new staph infection and to go home..on Tuesday I went to my Dr. Cause I could not get over the fevers,she did a what EIRMC SHOULD OF DONE, test my staph infection, LO-AND-BEHOLD...MERSA!! I'm really sickened to think it could of been life threatening and I was turned AWAY,I truly believe they didn't want me in the ER I know Staph can easily spread but I also believe they didn't give me the time of day to really examine ME to help me from becoming sicker,like I was..3 months later and I'm still not 100%..could of treatment sooner of helped,I believe so..
