Staff has been super helpful. Bought 2 kayaks there recently and was helped by so many folks! Just today I went backpack shopping for a hiking backpack and Rob stayed late to talk me through a lot. Really appreciated, especially since I didn't buy today (but I will next week!). A few years ago they set me up with ski attire when I learned how to ski - I love skiing now and a good part of that is because I never get cold in my EMS gear! Highly recommended.

I purchased an OR Astroman short sleeve shirt at EMS a few weeks ago. I wore it twice. On the second occasion I wore it fishing using a waist belt with a smooth webbing shoulder harness. When I returned home I noticed that the webbing had chafed the shirt and caused pilling on the front and back. This shirt was $85. That is a lot of money for 1 shirt. But, it's a nice shirt so I forked over the money. When I explained my problem to the EMS associate he said they used to handle situations like this with a no questions asked exchange. Now, they contact the manufacturer on the customers behalf and go through a replacement process. I can do that myself and have started the process. Maybe my expectations are off track here but if I wear an $85 shirt twice and it gets ruined I expect it to be replaced by EMS.

Eric the manager was very knowledgeable and a real pleasure to deal with. You cannot go wrong whether buying boots or a kayak though I only bought boots.

Good chain outfitter. I have had good luck with a lot of EMS brand gear from backpacks to clothes.
