Story

Eastern Slope Camping Area is the perfect family camping destination in the North Conway area, with the closest possible location to all of the region’s finest family attractions, restaurants, hiking & bicycling trails and tax-free outlet shopping. There is so much to see and do without spending all of your time driving. You can canoe or kayak right back to our beach, ride the scenic railroads and enjoy a special day at either Santa’s Village or Storyland theme parks. We are open from mid-May to early November. Situated right on the banks of the crystal clear Saco River, Eastern Slope Camping Area is the answer to all your vacation needs. We offer over 200 generously sized sites, all with large picnic tables and fire rings, along with the peace of mind of caring, on-site ownership. One of our recent campers summed up her family’s experience perfectly when she wrote, “I thought you should know just how happy our first camping experience was, and how high you have set the bar! Pros: Two Beaches!!! Beautiful Views. Friendly staff.  Dog friendly. Family Friendly. When less busy can be very romantic. Cute playground. Quiet enough at night to get some sleep. Convenient location 
Cons: Can get very busy and when it is very busy, you can feel a bit squeezed in. Don't expect total privacy, think of it as a more communal camping experience and you will have a great time. If you do need some privacy, communicate this to the staff and they will do what they can to place you accordingly. The beach at night is quiet and nice for walks.

I have read reviews about the campground flooding once again in July 2017 and campers had to evacuate. This happened to us  about five years ago. After a weekend of rain we were awakened by blowing horns at 2 AM in the morning. We opened the camper door to water ready to come into our tag along and the smell of septic was sickening. We were able to leave the camper in knee deep septic infested water , hop in our truck and drive to higher ground. It was in the fall so it was us and a group of college students in a tent nearby otherwise an empty campground. We did not want to loose our new camper so pulled the tie downs and hooked up in the water to pull it out with awning still out along with the slide out. The owners gave us a spot on higher ground to park so we could clean up along with money to wash our clothing. 
We were told this was a fluke because the bed of the river had been changed due to a horrible spring storm previously and engineers were looking to help the owners with drainage etc. We decided to camp again the next summer to use the free weekend we were given because of the flooding but never again because we did not feel safe there if a storm would occur.
To read this happening again caused me to write my story. I thought the problem had been solved with work done by engineers as told to us by the owners. Apparently not. I cannot say enough about the kindness of the owners but do believe a warning system needs to be set up in case of heavy rain and flooding.

My family of 8 camped here on August 26 -29, 2017. what a great location.
the 2 beaches are awesome to float down and the camp sites were clean and huge.  the bathrooms need a little updating but they all worked and were clean. the staff was very helpful. we will be coming back again.

Stayed here twice in the same summer. First time we were flooded out and had to evacuate (VERY poorly handled by the management). Second time we were treated like criminals every single night. I do not recommend staying here....unless you are in the mood to go on a vacation where you're talked down to by the staff and constantly harassed by the golf cart "patrol". These people go out of their way to try and find somebody breaking even the slightest rule. For example, doing things like shutting off their lights and stopping their cart like some kind of detective just to see if they can catch you saying a word after 10pm. Sucked the fun straight out of our trip. Only stayed here for the second time after being flooded due to being the last available however, I will not make that mistake again.

PS- The woman with black curly hair and glasses who works the desk on the right side in the main office is definitely the worst and the primary reason I will not return. Was rude both times I've been here, even during the flood found it within herself to be a grump. Thanks for your kindness!

Just got off the phone with Trish and she was WONDERFUL!! I am booking last minute.... I sent an email in for a reservation, received a call shortly after and all my wishes were granted!!! Thank you Trish, my girls will be forever grateful... and to the review that put condescending,  and rude.... it makes me wonder how you treated them first!!!
