Story

Summer Hours: often open on "closed days" if there is alot of foot traffic. Give us a call.

Edge of Glass Gallery has been an active studio showing blown art glass since 1993. James M. Curtis is the "Artist in Residence" meaning he is the artist that works out of the on site studio. We display a few other local artists. We offer all types of blown glass but a specialty is lighting. Most of the posts will be done by Tara as James is busy making glass art & lamps, getting supplies, running the gallery, etc.

Nice glass work shop focusing on light fixtures. Owner is only in a few days a week, but he's happy to explain his artwork and functionality. Mostly does custom work but there are some pieces for sale in the shop.

The unique beauty of James work must be seen to understand. We visited the shop and were in for an unexpected treat. We were enchanted, in awe, and in love. The beauty of James metamorphic lighting pieces can't be explained or photographed - you must see and experience to know and understand. Visit Edge of Glass, speak with James, and let him show you some of his unique pieces. You will never look at lighting or light fixtures the same! When we walked in we did not know we would walk out planning to be customers for life. Tommi, Lee and Deanna

My initial experience with the Edge of Glass was through the Fremont First Friday Artwalk. I was overwhelmed. I had been by a few times & liked what I could see through the window, but then to see James Curtis work and to talk with him and see the metamorphic lighting, just so wonderful. Be sure to have them show you the metamorphic lighting, it's amazing.

I initally came to the Edge of Glass gallery for the Fremont 1st Friday artwalk. I have fallen in love. First Friday is so fun. Do Not Miss the Metamorphic Glass demonstration, I had no idea glass could do that! The lighting is beautiful, wonderful to visit in the cooler weather. Quite reasonable for art glass. They have twice yearly clearance sales, which offer really good deals. James, the artist/owner, was great about pointing things out about my lamp that I might not like. None of it mattered to me, I love my lamp, but it was refreshing he was so honest. A fun place to visit with out of town friends/family.
