Been buying custom cakes here for more than 20 years starting back when they were across the street from Meredith College. The cakes themselves are amazing. Beautiful and delicious. This was my first terrible customer service experience. I ordered a birthday cake with a tall topper. When I went to pick it up they did not have a box that could actually fit the cake with the topper on it. The manager proceeded to put it in a box that wouldn't close. On the side that stood open she proceeded to sloppily tape a piece of parchment paper, which gaped open leaving my cake exposed to the air. This on a day when the weather is drizzling. This cake cost $100+ and they expect me to walk out into the weather with it open, telling me this is standard procedure and everyone just sort of accepts it. Really? You sell cakes that are tall and you can't manage to find a box to fit the tall cakes? In the history of my buying cakes at this place I have never left with it in a box that would not close. I am driving some distance and I am not leaving with a cake in a box it will not close and protect it. I insisted that they figure it out. They managed to get two boxes on this cake and tape it. If this could be done when I insisted, why didn't they do this as their standard procedure instead of asking me to walk outdoors with my cake open to the wind? Completely ridiculous. They sell cakes they can't provide boxes to fit? I was told the boxes are "very expensive and would increase the cost of the cake." So what? I'm already paying a premium for a custom cake; don't you figure I want a box to get it home securely in? Great cake, pleasing to the eye and the palate. Terrible service.

First time visiting the bakery, beautiful and quaint interior. All the bakery items looked yummy! I bought a cake from the display case for a relatives birthday. After slicing and eating the cake we all agreed the cake lacked flavor and the icing was “blah”. I was excited to purchase a cake from here after reading all the great reviews and awards the bakery has received, but needless to say, it was very pricey for a unfavorable cake. I’m a “cake” person and I don’t even want another piece! Very disappointed! Should have asked for a sample before purchasing. Don’t believe everything you read as well.

I could not believe what took place today. I came in and nicely explained that I had been given four of the wrong cupcakes. I asked for vanilla and was given cupcakes with lemon in them causing a severe allergy. I asked if Jen cupcakes could be replaced with what I ordered and if the nutritional information could be provided for whatever cupcake had lemon in it. The woman (older with shoulder length brown hair) was so rude I couldn't hardly believe it! "What do you want me to do about this?!" "How could you not know what you took a bite of?" "This isn't not my problem". Ok well it actually is because you made a mistake that caused an allergy. I was given four replacement cupcakes (thank you), but told "I shouldn't even Ben replacing these". I was shocked!

The level of detail on each delectable is fantastic. The work for events as small as birthday parties or as large as weddings or business catering for me, my clients, and my connections has simply been second to none. Drop by for a non guilty pleasure or more.

I ordered 2 cakes for my daughters first birthday and they were amazing! They looked beautiful and tasted even better! Great customer service on top of that! Thank you so much for being so great!
