This guy is a jerk. I had a colonoscopy where he told me I had mild Chrohns and gave me a handful of prescriptions. This is all while I was still under anesthia and unable to discuss any of it. I had to wait 2 weeks for my follow up appointment where he was very brief and uninterested in answering my questions. He consistently belittled my opinion. His communication was terrible. Despite his obvious shortcomings I continued to see him. At my follow up today he started the conversation off incredibly rude. He said that I have fought him on everything and he was surprised I showed up. I was blown away. I couldn't believe how selfish his perspective was. Apparently being informed and asking questions is somehow offensive to him. Not that he's ever even given me the time to ask questions and get explanations. He's upset that I didn't want to subject myself to the radiation involved in a ct scan unless necessary and my reluctance to take a steroid medication. Things I might have done if he were to do discuss my options with me. And he never let me explain my concerns once. I could go on in detail about every way this guy is a terrible doctor but I've made my point. He does not care about your well being. He cares about throwing pills at your symptoms and getting you out of there as quickly as possible. He forgets is its my body, not his. The way he talked to me today was so selfish, short-sited, and disrespectful that I cut him off, told him I wanted to see another doctor and walked out. Don't waste your time with this jerk. By the way a ct colonography is equivalent to at least 3 years of background radiation. An abdomen/pelvis ct scan is equal to 10 years of background radiation. Gadolinium contrast is a chelate of the very dangerous and toxic gadolinium. Look it up. The chelate buffer is supposed to keep the gadolinium from being absorbed into the body but it is not 100% efficient. It breaks down before it is all eliminated and an amount of gadolinium accumulates in the body. There is a report about gadolinium available online from the EMA (European Medicines Agency; similar to the FDA) The report also shows which brand gadolinium contrasts are most and least dangerous. I know the shields MRI near me uses one of the most dangerous ones. Sometimes it is necessary to have contrast MRIs and CT scans. But far too many doctors are ignorant to the dangers. I am not advocating to refuse all tests of this nature. Just avoid them if you can. I want to repeat sometimes they are necessary. People with chrohns are more likely to have colon cancer. I wonder if it has anything to do with the repeated ct scan radiation pumped into their colons..
