This was a really nice restaurant it’s got a bunch of flashing lights & flowers on walls & ceiling! We had Tuesday Taco Special 1/2 price. The sauce was not great & taco shells were hard on edges. The enchiladas were chicken with potatoes and vegetables and was good entree. The drinks had good taste though were not strong. It’s kind of pricey, the music is loud. They were out of sopes and fried ice cream that we tried to order. They say tortillas were home made & didn’t seem like were for tacos. The enchiladas & taco shells were different. The lights were flashing a lot. My wife & daughter went into bar to get a shot and a customer was smoking something that blew smoke and it irrated my wife’s eye causing it to water excessively. The service was okay.,This restaurant used to be called The Big Apple years ago.
Food was really good, drinks were good. Atmosphere was beautiful. Service was slim. Very short staffed it seemed for a Friday night. Seemed like a great place for some Latin dancing with the DJ there and seemed like a lively place on a warmer day. Features: No covid practices in place, but seating was spaced out.
I am going to be really honest here this restaurant is not the best and it is all that great. My wife and I woke up late wanted to try this place and honestly we should have stayed in bed. Our waitress did not check on us, we ordered Menudo and tortillas. She forgot the tortillas and condiment had to call another waitress for the items The last I checked Menudo is not supposed to taste like Enchilada Sauce. Than our waitress spent time talking another lady in a black dress and that went on for 20 minutes and they are running around like chickens and the restaurant is not even full. Maybe 10 customers including couples. I'm sorry but from the outside looks okay but from the inside looks like a Strip Club.
I came here at opening so I was by myself. Service was oddly slow for no one being there but me. Took forever to get my drinks. I thought it was happy hour so I wasn’t expecting a big bill. But the drinks were fire. I had two margaritas, a pina colada, two shots of 1800 and I ordered the taquitos. They were fire!!! The rice and beans are some of the best I’ve had. The decor and atmosphere are incredible. Huge parking lot.
Came here to try the menudo as it was close to home. Looked at the reviews and they seemed to be good. It took over 10 min to get a waitress to get our order, then almost 30 min to get food. The menudo was bland and tasted like canned enchilada sauce, we got no tortillas and my hubby couldn't get the attention of no waitress. He was getting super frustrated when he finally got someone to come to the table. We had to ask for salt, our tortillas and oregano. I wouldn't recommend to come here on an empty stomach cause you'll starve before you get your food. The staff just stands around just chatting amongst each other. With so much staff, they should be tending to the customers and giving them all the attention instead of standing around talking and the restaurant was not even busy.
The restaurant had some cool decorations, the servers were pretty good the restaurant was pretty empty when we got there but started filling up. The menu has some great looking items, and we ordered a molcajete , rice and beans were awesome. The recipes are a little spicy so if you can't take the heat you might want to stay out of this kitchen. Some of the clientele we're a little low brow and we could hear f-bombs through the air, but I blame Fontana for that more than the business. Worth checking this place out, I'd say yes .
This place USED to be somewhere I loved taking my family to eat great food with good prices, today we came here and it will definitely be our last.. horrible service! Our waitress was who knows where most the time our drinks needed refill and we waited about 15 min for that our food comes out cold but on hot plates. No napkins no silverware we finish our food still no refills and now we are ready to leave with our waitress still no where to be found. I go up to the front to ask for our check and they tell me they will send her to us she comes and asked for our check … like wait what?? No we want our check we are done, she brings us the wrong receipt no biggie then gets the other one so we can sign … Baja California you use to be amazing what ever you have done in the last year you have definitely destroyed the restaurant.
The waitress took 15 minutes to come to our table! I order my family's food! Another Family comes in and they sat next to our table and order there food! The waitress goes and gives our order to that family instead of giving it to us! By this time my family and me had been waiting for approximately 30 minute's already! I approached her and all she SAID " I WILL REMAKE YOUR FAMILY'S ORDER FOR YOU GUYS ! LITERALLY TOOK US APPROXIMATELY 1 HR JUST TO GET OUR FOOD!
The drinks were good but the service is awful. We went on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and to watch some Sunday football. We git our drinks and they changed the TV station from the game to music videos. We asked the waitresses if they could change it back to the game and they said the owner didn't want football on the TVs in the bar area. So we canceled our food order and left. Won't be going back. They could have changed it after the game was over.
The food is delicious and the presentation is awesome
