I recently visited the El Cajon DMV office to take a written examination to renew my driver's license. I was pleased to find that the office has been recently upgraded and reorganized. Previously (some 5 years ago), the staff worked in a centrally located desk area. At that time, they appeared to me to be crowded into that space, and the seating for clients also seemed crowded. The work areas are now along the sides of the room, and clearly marked. All the staff I interacted with had a great attitude. The central area now provides improved seating for clients, The window numbers are logically arranged and are clearly visible from all parts of the room, a great improvement over the previous layout. The dispatch system is very efficient. The audio system is very clear, and set at an appropriate volume. The visual displays are mounted where they can be easily seen, and are easy to interpret. My impression was of an orderly, efficient, well-functioning system. I waited in the first line a very short time and was given the form I needed. When I filled it out and returned it, I was given a number which was used to route me correctly when staff was available. It took surprisingly little time to have the test administered (on computer), my photo taken, and my temporary license issued. A very pleasant experience.

Very helpful employees except some of the jerks who are asking nonsense questions, but still way better then the one in Chula Vista. El Cajon DMV Keep up the good 👉work👍🏻👍.
