The La Mesa Police Department works with our community to protect life and property while striving to enhance the quality of life of all our residents. The department is very responsive to the needs of our community and is devoted to providing the highest quality professional police services to everyone:
The department has 68 sworn officers and 31 civilian employees, as well as a large contingent of retired senior volunteers. The department answers over 100,000 calls for service each year with the Patrol Division, Investigations Unit, Special Enforcement Detail, Traffic Unit, School Resource Unit, and Crime Prevention / Community Resource Unit.
