Got some take out, fresh and exceptional flavor Food: 5/5
El Fogon was a great experience - the staff was helpful and kind and the food was delicious and authentic! My fiancée and her mom really enjoyed the ceviche in particular, the presentation of which was really nice.
Seen mostly good reviews of this place. Was in desperate need of a smothered burrito and a Michelada to get back to normal after a heavy night! Decided to hit this spot! Service was a little slow but I was by myself and every other table was filled. So didnt really bother me. Usually get overlooked when alone anyways. Once I got my chips and tasted the salsa I was sure the food should at least be decent! Salsa can tell a lot about a place. Michelada hit the spot and my order came quickly after! I personally make mine really spicy and this wasn’t spicy but was a good mix of mix and beer plus a Tajin rim. Chile relleno was definitely my favorite. Tasty and had a good kick to it. Green Chile wasnt as hot as the salsa so used the rest of the salsa on top. Tamale was good. Was even Better after soaking In sauce later when I had the leftovers. Then had another Michelada for dessert! Would definitely visit again.
Went for happy hour drinks and food with co workers. Food was good but drinks were poorly made. We ordered the Cadillac margaritas and for $12 could barely taste the alcohol, nor was there a floater of grand marnier in it. When we inquired, the server said she had put it in. I'd go back for food, but not drinks!Food: 4/5
If I could give it no stars I would. First they started by putting us directly next to the door in the middle of a snow storm. Ok we can deal with that. Then the waitress took almost 20 minutes to bring us our drinks , now this does not mean all our drinks. She brought the alcoholic drinks and forgot the water. Ok please bring that. Nope we then proceeded to wait 30 minutes for food, I had to go to the bar twice to ask for water rand still never got it. Then when my food was finally brought we got no napkins, nothing but what we ordered hot sauce asked if we needed anything else ... Ya still looking for that water ok cool. Then. We finished eating and it took another 20 minutes before anyone ever checked on us again. I wanted to actually take my food as I was enjoying it but was now running late for the symphony, so couldn't spare another 20 minutes to wait for a box. I understand that not everyone spoke English and hey I even understandstand that it was busy and snow was happening. But to wait over an hour ask multiple times and not receive water until right before I pay my tab is just poor service.
I remember a time where Colorado was known for its delicious Mexican and New Mexican food, those days are long gone. The smothered burritos at El Fogon were covered in this slop like liquid that was supposed to be chili. Don’t eat here if you’re looking for authentic. The Mexican Restaurants in Colorado have really gone down hill and all the out of state families moving here would never know authentic, it sucks how much things have changed. You raised your prices and lowered the standard of your food and that is sad.
I have been eating the food at El Fogon for as long as I can remember, and it is The best Authentic Mexican food around. I love coming here, and So does my husband, and my abuelo, and my parents and my Whole family! The staff is always so friendly; the food is always delicious, and we Always leave full and happy!!
As “gringos” we LOVE LOVE LOVE El Fogon. Drinks are always good, everything we have ever gotten has been amazing, fresh and served hot. Staff is always smiling and on it with service. Highly recommendFood: 5/5
Everything I've tried is delicious! Their mole is the best from anywhere I've tried in Colorado. Especially their margaritas. The vibes are always positive, treated like family.Food: 5/5
