Great food, quickly served, but never enough help on the floor during busy times

OMG. My favorite Mexican restaurant hands down! The inside is a bit dated but it still offers some curb appeal. The simplicity, the school cafeteria setting, the polite staff, the diverse patrons, the spices the drinks the ambiance.. you get it. Give it a try! It's right off hwy 78 and west park place. Right across the street from the Metro Cafe. Ok I'm done!

This restaurant has been "dinner" on many occasions. Usually they have good food...service etc. The past few years portions are smaller and service has been  below par. Tonight was the last time i will spend my money here. No more. I ordered CARNITAS...And i side of cilantro, corn instead of flour. 

First... They were OUT of cilantro. HOW ARE YOU OUT OF CILANTRO AT A MEXICAN RESTAURANT?!?!?! with a grocery store across thw street? (Walmart) 
Second... Slow cooked pork (carnitas) was NOT  WHAT RECEIVED. Instead, i received this sliced pork tenderloin..cooked until completely dry with a ton of onions! For $13?!?!?! 😮 And half cooked corn tortillas! Really?!?! 
Dont waste you time....visit EL JINETE on 124! Best Carnitas ever.

the food was pretty terrible. the ground beef was dry and crumbly, the talame had dried out and the last few bites  were inedible,  the bean paste was too sweet. i dont think my mom and i finish any part of the dishes. nothing came salads except the chips. I had to resort to pouring the communal chip Salsa on my plate. we ordered fried ice cream and was disappointed  that they brought out ice cream rolled in corn flakes and not fried at all.

Good place to eat lunch. The chips and salsa are very good. They have improved their service at lunch immensely. I would recommend this place.
