Best Mexican food in Arkadelphia, maybe the state with La Regional in Little Rock closed.  

From the lime juice in the Mexican guacamole to the succulent gorditas, El Zacatecano did everything right.

Why anyone in the Arkadelphia area would want to eat at a Mexican restaurant other than El Zacatecano is beyond me. The food here is as authentically Mexican as the owner is genuinely simpatico (that's Spanish for "nice" in case you were wondering). Sure, you can go to one of the Tex Mex restaurants and be another face in the crowd — you'll most likely get your food faster, too (if in such a big hurry to eat, might I suggest McDonald's?) — OR you can do yourself a favor and give this gem a visit. The owner often personally brings us our food, and even on the occasions he's too busy to do so (the food is made from scratch rather than being prepared ahead of time and reheated on a plate), he always thanks us for his business, shakes my hand and calls us "friend." Furthermore, you get free queso on Wednesdays, and children eat for free on Sundays — and those are just the specials that come to mind. Since we first tried "El Z" about a year ago, we have eaten here exclusively when we want Mexican cuisine. Eat here; you won't be disappointed.

Man we love this place. Everything we've ever had here has been amazing. The owner is a really great guy and always greets us and checks on us! Only place in Arkadelphia we will go for Mexican food!
