We’d been experiencing frequent flickers in lights and electrical appliances for about a week and were concerned that an electrical fire might be imminent. We called Electrical Services, Inc. on a Sunday because the company has 24/7 service. An actual technician answered the phone, made arrangements to come out, and arrived at the scheduled time -- two hours later. The first thing he did was provide us a copy of the company’s State of Florida business license and certificate for its membership in the Better Business Bureau. No contractor we’ve ever had in offered that. The technician was courteous, well-versed, and seemed thorough in checking logical suspects. As it turned out, everything appears fine and his suggestion is that we have FPL check its inside connection to the meter, where these kinds of problems could be generated from. The dispatch fee for weekend response was $169. It’s $69 for regular business hour service. None of that surprised us, and even with the additional fee, at least we don’t have to worry about the house going up in flames.
