I came looking for a glass of wine and I was 1.5 hours early. I was still served a fabulous glass of white wine and able to view the menu for the evening crowd. I was also given a chance to taste some of the wines offered in the evening, as well as meet Eli Zabar himself. Fabulous wine menu and impeccable service. I'm rarely on the UES but will return.

Its not a clean place. There are mice in the building. Eli needs to do more to keep the building and the basement cleaner. It is getting worse.

The upper east side is much improved with this neighborhood gem. Everyone is so nice and the food is consistently delicious.

Extremely meh food for unreasonably high prices. Eggs were watery/slippery and unpleasant. The fruit was good simply because it was fruit and unaltered, but $16.99/pound?? Really?? Pictured here is a fruity dessert that my partner's mom enjoyed.
