They had me spend $125 plus tip for a protective style that's was supposed to last 2 months. They had someone without much experience doing the style and she stopped styling my hair to eat which is fine but, I don't want someome licking their fingers to put their hands on my hair right away. I work very hard for my money. I wanted to give hair salons a chance again and they failed. The hairstyle didn't even last as long as it was supposed even with proper care. The hairstyle didn't protect my hair all my edges are damaged. I could've gotten past the professionalism if they didn't have someone practicing on my head.

I had recently gotten my hair done here about a month ago. I waited till now to write a review so I could fully see if my curly pattern had remained intake with lots of elasticity. It did. I personally found the hair salon great in it's up keep, and with it's very few customers. The salon is nicely decorated and looks very appealing. My stylist, Nette, was very nice and knew so much about natural hair. I have been on a natural hair journey for 2 years, and hearing a stylists talk about everyday natural hair terms really brings relief. Even though I only straighten my hair once a year, I feel Nette still took very good care of my hair regardless of the healthy shape it was already in. Although so things she did were questionable, like brushing my hair when it was wet, and using kinda high heat on some appliances, I feel that my salon experience was still great. The most important thing was my hair was bone straight when it was done, without requiring 7 or 8 times of passing the straightener! I didn't ask about the heat of the flat iron but I feel it was probably no higher than 400 degrees. I really like this salon and I feel all natural beauties should give it a try. $50 was worth the 1 month flat iron I could wear. And my curls are still perfect!

First time there and it took nearly 5 hours to get my hair done. I was given an apology and discount only after speaking up and nearly walking out. Very unprofessional especially considering the good things I'd read about the salon beforehand. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because my hair did look nice after the unacceptable wait. Not worth my money again.

* Not only did I get swindled, I now have a significant amount of heat damage 🙄😒😩! I want to give this place more stars because I had a good experience up until the end, even then it wasn't bad but off-putting. I went for a consultation with Ms. Ish and she was really nice and knowledgable. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and the rest of the employees there seem nice enough. I was in desperate need of a trim and I wasn't able to go to my regular salon. I tried out this place because the reviews were pretty good. During my initial consultation with Ms. Ish I was told she charges $25 for a trim and that INCLUDES the wash and set. Fast forward two days later and I'm at the shop getting my hair done. Everything was going well and Ms. Ish kept checking to make sure I was comfortable and to see if I needed anything. When my hair was finished I loved the end result. It looked healthy, shiny, and had tons of body. When it was time for me to leave, I pulled out the $25 and handed it over to the beautician. I noticed her looking very strangely. And I asked "it is $25 right?" To which she replied "no, it's $85." 😐😕 I reminded her of the conversation we had two days ago and she said she only said it was $25 for the trim and $50 for a wash and set. I am not one to miss information, especially when it comes to a service and how much I will be paying for that service. There was not another number mentioned during my initial consultation. Even though I thought the price she quoted me was a bit low, I didn't say anything because I figured the price wouldn't change later, let alone go up another $60 bucks. I had only brought enough cash to cover what I was quoted and she didn't accept any other form of payment, so I had to leave the shop and go look for my bank, it was to much. As I was in route to the bank Ms. Ish called me and said she made a mistake, it's only going to be $75 and she would get me a price list. At that point I was becoming annoyed and just wanted to get home because I had to be at work in less than 2 hours and I live quite a distance from the shop. I don't have anything negative to say about the shop, the stylist either for that matter, I just wish people would be upfront and quote people the correct information. If I would have known the full price I probably would have waited until it gets cooler outside so I could preserve my hair longer. If you go to this shop or anywhere for that matter, make sure to ask to see a price list. There is nothing worse than thinking your're going to be paying a price, then being told not only is that not the price but it's going to increase by a significant amount.
