This is a gem of a park. It houses the oldest municipal rose garden in the country, which is a wonderful thing to see in full summer. There's a sweet gazebo in the middle too that's entirely covered in vines. In addition to the rose garden they have walking paths, a pond, a hillside view of the Hartford skyline, a greenhouse, an herb garden, a rock garden, and other seasonable plantings. Weekends you can grab brunch at the Pond House and then enjoy a walk outside.

The gardens are well maintained and displayed beautifully.  There are also some exquisite examples of trees.  The paths to access the gardens and trees are well maintained.   The Pond House is a great place for lunch after a morning wandering through the gardens.

Beautiful even during the winter!  The greenhouse was open and there were hundreds and hundreds of tulips starting to bloom!  Breakfast at the Pond House was delicious.

Park is really cleaned. Played tennis. Dogs on leashes are welcomed. Very big.

My Mom got married here and she passed away so when I'm down I come to this park to just sit in peace and quiet.
