Story

Elmhurst Extended Care Center is a 108 bed Skilled Nursing Facility. We offer a number of different services like short term rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, cardiac therapy, etc.), in-patient hemodialysis, long term care, certified Alzheimer's and dementia care, and respite stays. We are a family owned and operated facility focused on the care of our residents!

Our Mom chose EECC for rehab after hip replacement surgery and she received excellent physical and occupational therapy as well as good general care. The staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very caring. It is clean and well managed. They don't have many private rooms, but the quality of the care and rehabilitation was worth the inconvenience of sharing a room. Also, the facility is well maintained and clean.

My mother was in this facility and the care she received was great.  The staff was great and kept our family informed of any changes with mother health, and care plan. I highly recommend this facility.

Great staff. Caring clean facility.  To amber previous review says your here a 3rd time if it is so bad why did you come back a 2nd and third time. My mother in law has been here for years and is great as are other residents. Everyone one here is cared and the facility is wonerful. As for smokers they are always 15 ft from building. Never saw a problem. As for elmhurst hospital. I'v been a patient there and takes long to get staff to respond also. Maybe because they have other patients too.

Whatever you do, do not take your relatives to Elmhurst Extended Care. We have been here once before and had a horrible experience, so much so that we took my grandmother out asap. We are here again unfortunately and to no surprise we are having a horrible experience again! There are about 3 people to a room, tvs are in the worst spot for viewing, it took us more than fifteen minutes for a nurse to come to help, there are no private bathrooms for each patient, the room was hot and to make matters worse their employees who have smoking problems smoke right outside their front doors taking no consideration for the patients and visitors that would like to live smoke free. Disgusting place. Disgusting place to have in Elmhurst. I would love to see this place demolished, rebuilt, and restaffed to the likes of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
